S9+ Turns Off Randomly
Problem: I got my Samsung galaxy S9+, 7 weeks ago, this is the 2nd time it turns off completely at 80% battery, I reboot it , it turns on then it turns off right away. I charge it 100% then it turns on and works fine. I deleted some apps, which I don’t have that many. I also make sure to put to sleep the apps, delete messages and calls. What could be wrong?
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to check if the problem is caused buy a software glitch by following the troubleshooting steps listed below. After performing a step immediately check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to proceed to the next step.
- Remove the microSD card of the phone.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely a hardware related problem already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S9+ Freezes When Charging
Problem: When charging my phone and it not turned off after while the screen will light up very dimly and the white screen with the tmobile symbol can be seen. From that point it is locked up and I can’t do anything. Only way to get it back is hold the power and volume down button until it reboots. If the phone is powered off I have no problem at all. I’ve tried several different chargers amd ever bought the Samsung wireless charger. Exact same thing happens no matter which charger is being used. Battery life still seems to discharge at a normal rate. I also put it in safe mode to see if a app may be causing the problem and it still locked up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Solution: It’s likely that this is caused by a faulty hardware component. You can however troubleshoot this problem by checking if some software glitch is the culprit by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. If the issue persists then I suggest that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S9+ Not Turning On After Drop
Problem: So basically, yesterday afternoon i let my little sister use my S9 plus to watch videos, she got mad and threw my phone it worked fine, then she did the same thing again that same afternoon and i took it away and left it alone before i went to sleep i put it to charge and i woke up and took it i didnt use it at school because i have another phone but my friend wanted to use it i thought it was dead and it wasn’t turning on so i went to a class and plugged it, it turned on and i disconnected it and left. When i got home i plugged it in again and it turned on and showed the battery thing but it glitched and turned off. I held the power bottom and it showed the logo it went to my homescreen and it was 100 percent charged but when i disconnected it, it turned off. I did the same thing and my percentage went down to 60. at this point i don’t know if its the charger, phone or battery. Please help
Solution: It’s very likely that the drop might have damaged the phone. To check if this is the case you should eliminate the other possible factors that could be causing this problem by following the steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the problem occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is already a hardware related problem. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S9+ Moisture Detected In Charging Port
Problem: Phone will not charge “charge blocked moisture detected. There has been no water introduced, but it is humid in Bali. Have tried various fixes,: cleaned port with dental pick, cleared data in Android settings, dried with hair dryer, put in ziplock with dry pack. Changed charging chord. Please advise.
Solution: If you are in a humid environment then it’s very likely that this is what’s causing the problem. You need to make sure that the charging port of the phone is dry by using a mini vacuum or hair dryer to remove any presence of moisture in the port.
If the port is already dry and the issue still persists then the next step is to check if this is caused by a software glitch by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
