S9 Randomly Restarts
Problem: Hi, I went through your and other troubleshooting guides but with no luck. I am working with the S9 and the OS is up to date – not sure which android version I’m running. I thought I was having issues with an app. so over the past week I’ve done factory resets and not loaded any content onto the phone. It worked great until I would use my google log in where everything was backed up and the “bad apps” would cause the phone to restart randomly, in the middle of phone calls, while texting, or just sitting on the desk. I would factory reset and same things would happen. I finally reset and brought nothing over and used a new google acct to back up. After a few days it would start to do the same thing – randomly shut down/restart. It always booted up but sometimes would take 1 minute sometimes close to 5 minutes. Apps, email, texting, contacts could work as usual or take up to 30 seconds to open and react. This morning I was going through contacts and it was slow – major lag and then shut down. I figured it would restart as it always did in the past but when I check a couple hours later it did not restart. That was when I started to troubleshoot it. Nothing on the list helped including random “it really works” stuff on the internet – put in freezer and try booting when cold. The only sign of life from the phone was when plugging into the computer I would get an external device attached notification but the computer would not read the device (normally the device name and today I got nothing). The battery was at about 90% when it restarted. I’ve tried different chargers, different usb cables, soft reset, hard reset,, etc and nothing works. Any advice on what might work that I have not tried yet? Do I just need to pull the trigger and get a new phone? Thank you
Solution: Since you have already performed most of the troubleshooting steps recommended for this particular issue then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S9 Randomly Reboots
Problem: S9 rebooting non stop. if the phone cuts on, i can’t attach my charger or it will turn off and reboot again. i can only use my charger if the phone is off, and the phone only turns on if the battery is above 70%. then i got a notification saying my samsung account has expired. now i cant use mobile network, it says that i have to insert sim to use mobile network. my sim worked when using someones device.so i got replacement sim and it still didn’t read. also my phone battery overheats. can you hep
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Make sure to remove the microSD card when you do the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is most likely a hardware related problem already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S9 Heats Up
Problem: I just bought Samsung galaxy S9. if i turn on flight mode, it will cool down. but as soon as i turn off the flight mode, it will heat up. by the way, my mobile data is always on though i don’t use my phone but just keeping aside and no activity on the internet. my sim is in a roaming. any help would be thankful
Solution: If you are in an area with a weak mobile signal reception then your phone will have the tendency to heat up as it uses more power to get a good reception. To check if this problem is caused by a weak signal try removing your phone SIM card then make sure that flight mode is off. If the phone does not heat up then you will have to be in an area with a good reception to fix the problem.
If the issue persists even with the SIM card removed then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if the issue still occurs.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
