Welcome to another installment of our troubleshooting series where we aim to help our readers who own the #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 fix the issues that they are experiencing with their phone. This is a flagship device released last year which ditches the physical home button. This allows the phone to have a large front real estate which is occupied mostly by the display. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 stuck in bootloop after software update issue and other related problems.
S8 Stuck In Bootloop After Software Update
Problem: Background about the phone – Samsung galaxy S8. I had to change the battery about a month ago because it wasn’t charging and was stuck in a boot loop. Then was working fine. I was updating my phone with the most recent update and it got to 100% and then crashed, it is now stuck in a boot loop and keeps turning on to the samsung screen then going onto the blue installing screen then going onto an error screen with android logo & warning sign. Now I’ve left it last night so the battery could drain so the phone turned off, then this morning i charged it for 2 minutes and then tried to soft & hard reset it ect. Once turned on it then continued to do the same boot loop thing! The phone is not responding to anything really and i feel as if its a system/software fault.
Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in the phone? If you have one then try removing this card as this might be causing the problem. In case your phone does not have a card installed then you will have to start the phone in recovery mode then perform the steps listed below.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone.
- Do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
S8 Stuck In Boot Logo After Drop
Problem: So, I dropped my Samsung S8 it had fallen about a foot or so face first with a basic case covering around the whole phone. The screen wouldn’t want to turn on until I plugged it into a charger. It showed the box symbol with the lightning bolt but no blinking light to indicate it was charging or the green bubbles from the home button going up indicating it was charging. I tried holding down the power button and volume down button, I got a result of the screen turning off from the box symbol with the lightning bolt right back to the box symbol with the lightning bolt. I proceeded with some information from your website. Holding down the home button, volume up, and power button. Now the phone is stuck on the boot logo. Its constant. And it wont do the boot logo unless its plugged into a power source, what do I do?
Solution: It looks like the drop might have damaged a component inside the phone which is resulting in this problem. The best troubleshooting step that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. This will allow you to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If the issue persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center.
Problem: Samsung Galaxy S8. My phone started to fail on me. It became working very slow in the past few days and it seems that the problem is progressing When I receive a phone call it takes time to answer it When I want to unlock it, it would freeze. My screen wouldn’t react to my fingers More and more apps start crashing I didn’t download any apps recently and I try to keep as little of them as possible When I removed the SD card and did the soft reset nothing changed
Solution: Try checking if the problem occurs in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then you might have downloaded an app that is causing this problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
