Solved Samsung Galaxy S8 Screen Is Unresponsive Turns Black

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is a flagship phone released last year that is not only beautiful but has the power to run any demanding task smoothly. This phone uses a large 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display on a glass and metal body. It also sports a powerful Snapdragon 835 / Exynos 8895 processor combined with 4GB of RAM. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 screen is unresponsive turns black issue and other related problems.

S8 Screen Is Unresponsive Turns Black

Problem: I had my screen replaced after being cracked and since then My screen will turn black and be unresponsive but if I’m on YouTube it happens I can still hear the audio even though the screen is black to undo this I have to do a soft reset and restart my phone for the screen to work. When this happens my phone gets really hot and if I’m at 100 percent and this happens my percentage will go down significantly. That’s what’s going on.

Solution: If a soft reset temporarily fixes the problem then there’s a chance that this could be caused by a software glitch. What you will want to do right now is to check if the issue occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. When the phone works in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this might already be caused by a faulty display. You will then need to have this checked at a service center.

S8 Flashing Blue LED Light After Drop

Problem: Dropped my Samsung S8 and the sides of the phone are dented slightly. Tried to perform troubleshooting methods (vol down +power button for 20 sec) but didn’t work. the flashing blue light was the only thing visible. tried charging it, only a red light was elicited. also tended to overheat even though i didn’t touch or charge it

Related Problem: My phone had been previously dropped so the screen was cracked. A few drops of water fell through crack and slowly started turning purple, gradually turning blue and is now completely black. It still rings and I am able to answer calls but can’t see anything. Is this something that can be fixed? Would repairing screen fix issue?

Related Problem: My phone was working fine and I put it on the charger. When I took it off the charger the screen was black and won’t come on but the blue light is flashing. I have tried resetting it but still nothing.

Solution: Unfortunately it looks like the drop has damaged a component inside the phone which is now resulting in this problem. You can try to start the phone in recovery mode and do a factory reset from here. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If this doesn’t work then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Screen Is Black

Problem: Phone is completely charged. Screen is still black. The phone is on because when I hold the power/ volume down button I can feel it vibrate. Won’t show that it’s charging when plugged in. Has not been hard or water dropped.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. This will allow you to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
