The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is last years flagship phone that has several major changes when compared to its predecessor. This model no longer has a physical home button and it now uses a larger 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display that occupies most of the front part of the phone. It also uses several upgraded hardware components such as a Snapdragon 835 / Exynos 8895 processor which makes the phone perform quite well. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 is not responding issue and other related problems.
S8 Is Not Responding
Problem: After charging my samsung s8 phone is dead. It doesn’t respond on any key whatever I try, except when I push volume down key, bixby key and power key it shows warning and blue screen where saying volume down reset and volume up ODIN mode. When I choose volume down for reset nothing happening just black screen. On charging cable nothing showing the phone is completely dead. Probably I will go to service with phone.
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to make sure that the phone battery has sufficient charge. To do this you should follow the steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
- Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger.
- In case the phone does not charge then try connecting it to a computer USB port.
- Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons.
In case the phone still does not turn on then try checking if you can access the recovery mode of the device. From here I recommend that you do a factory reset. This way you can check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Black Screen After Drop
Problem: My phone fell to the ground onto its back. It has a hard cover safety cover, but after picking it up, it had a black screen and did not start again. I have tried your tipps (pressing power off / noise down for 10 sec and pressing noise up/central button / power off), I have put it to the socket to load the battery. No change. What is does, though, is to buzz/vibrate very shortly every 10 seconds. next to buzzing I can see a little lighting-up at the right side (along the line going from top right corner to bottom right corner).
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch by starting the phone in recovery mode. From here you will need to do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. If this does not fix the problem then it’s likely that the drop has damaged a certain component inside the phone. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Does Not Turn On
Problem: Hi, I have an S8 problem. Pressing the power button will not boot up. The screen is black. Only when I try to charge it shows the battery fully 100% charged symbol.
I tried without any success the following:
- hold power and down button for 10 -20 seconds forced power down.
- battery is not removable so can’t physically remove,
- before it run out of charge I could wake up the phone only by plugging in the charging cable and then using the power button. from then on it worked perfectly for all intents and purposes. Once the phone went into sleep mode I can only repeat the above.
- Now the phone was allowed to discharge fully and then recharged. I cant progress anymore with or without charging cable.
Can you help please?
Solution: Try connecting the phone to its charger then check if it turns on while it is connected. If it does not turn on the the problem could be caused by a faulty power IC. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Forgot Passcode
Problem: My wife’s S8 didn’t recognize her swipe passcode but still knew her fingerprint. However when following the steps to clear the cache it restarted the phone which then made it impossible to try the additional steps since the phone required the swipe passcode to unlock. We finally reset factory settings by using the buttons on sides.
Solution: One other method to unlock your device aside from the factory reset is to use the Find My mobile service of Samsung. You must have a Samsung account created and connected with the phone in order for this to work. There is an option in the Find My Mobile website to unlock your phone and remove the passcode.
