S7 Edge Locked Out Of Phone
Problem: recently tried to install a screen lock on my S7 Edge. I did not finish the procedure, and came out of the program. The phone was then placed on its charger. The next day when I tried to open the phone I got a screen requesting a password. Since I don’t remember setting one up, I’ve tried every password related to my Google account to no avail. I can not get into my phone. Is there anyway to gain access to my S7 Edge? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
Solution: The first method to gain access to your device is to use the Find My Mobile service of Samsung. This will work if you have setup a Samsung account on your phone.
- Log on the Find My Mobile service on the Samsung website.
- Enter your Samsung account information/
- Assuming you’ve successfully logged into your Samsung account, find the ‘Unlock my screen’ on left sidebar.
- Click “Unlock” to get past the lock screen.
- You’ll then receive a prompt telling you your phone’s screen is already unlocked.
- Now set your new password.
Another way to gain access to your phone is to use the Android Device Manager.
- Log on to Google’s Android Device Manager service through your computer.
- Login using your Google credentials
- Once successful, you can immediately see a list of Android devices so select the one you want to unlock.
- Inside ADM’s interface, select “Lock.”
- In the next screen, enter a temporary password and click Lock again.
- If successful, you should see buttons Ring, Lock and Erase.
- On your phone, you will be prompted to enter the temporary password you just created. If entered correctly, you can unlock your device.
If the above steps fails to work then you will have to do a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that you will lose your phone data if you do this.

S7 Edge Frozen Unresponsive Screen
Problem: Yesterday was using phone, S7 Edge . battery level in the 90s, walked away and 10 mins later went to use phone gain, homepage on with all icon, tapped one & no movement of screen, screen froze, could not call the phone from another. Went online to c if anyone could help. Tried the power + volume down several times, tried the power + volume down then to volume up + power home screen several times. Both efforts would lead to the black screen with att and then within a few seconds would revert back to a blue screen with a white robot figure with a circle in its chest moving clockwise with two arrows and near the bottom of the screen on left side are the words “installing system updates” I brought it over to an att store to no avail, and I called ATT support tech to no avail. Can you please help in any way as I would like as everyone else not to lose my info, pics, pws, texts etc. Thank you
Solution: To troubleshoot this problem without losing your phone data you should first remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed. Once this is done connect the phone to its wall charger then let it charge for at least 20 minutes. With the phone still connected to the charger try turning on the phone.
In case the issue persists then you should try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. If this does not work then you should consider doing a factory reset in recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
