S7 Edge Becomes Unresponsive When Charging

Problem: I have a Samsung S7 and every time I put it on charge or charge from my portable battery the phone becomes unresponsive and reboots itself. I have tried a soft reboot and clearing the system cache, if I do a factory reset do I lose all my settings? What are my other options / steps? I thought I might try running in Safe Mode for 24hrs??? What are your thoughts?

Solution: Does this problem only occur when you use your portable battery to charge the phone? If it does then try using another portable battery as the one you are using might be faulty and is causing the problem. In case the problem still persists then I suggest that you clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in the port. Once the port is clean use a different charging cord to connect the portable charger to your phone. If the device becomes unresponsive then this is most likely caused by a shorted circuit possibly originating from one of the pins of the charging port. You need to have this checked at a service center.

S7 Edge Randomly Turns Off Not Turning Back On

Problem: Hi , I encountered a problem with my Samsung S7 Edge gadget recently where for some reason phone just went off and could not come back on. When I put back on charge, the charge icon came on/off with vibration. when I tried a soft reboot, it wont come on either. Now I don’t really know how to go about resolving this issue and need you expert assistance.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port. Once this is done use a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone for at least 20 minutes. In case the charging icon is intermittent then try pressing the charging cord into the charging port as it might be loose.

Once the phone has sufficient charge remove the microSD card ( if you have one installed) then press and hold the power and volume down buttons of the phone for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.

In case your phone does not turn on then you will need to have this checked at a service center.

S7 Edge Buzzing Sound After Getting Wet

Problem: I dropped my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge in standing water and removed it after maybe 5 seconds. I  left it to dry for several days. When I went to turn it on it would buzz and then nothing. No blue light and a black screen. I’ve tried the method where you hold all the buttons already and it didn’t work. It just buzzes some more then nothing. The odd thing is, when I plug it into my charger the red light comes on and it buzzes to say its charging. What other methods can I try or is my phone no good any more.

Solution: It looks like water might have entered the device and damaged some internal component. This can happen even if this phone has a water resistant feature if the rubber seal of the phone is broken. You can try placing the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Try charging the phone for at least 20 minutes then turn it on. In case the issue persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge Will Not Turn On

Problem: Hello my boyfriend has a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and it just shut off last year out of nowhere….. Since then we have tried everything……. The battery will not charge….. I tried to do a factory reset yesterday and the phone got stuck on the do not turn off the product screen for about an hour…..  I tried to restart the phone and it won’t power on at all now. Is there something else that I can do to fix this issue?

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to remove the microSD card of the phone ( if one is installed) then charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger. Once the phone has sufficient charge start it in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. Restart the phone after this.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
