S8 Will Not Charge

Problem: My Samsung 8 will not charge. I get a message that there is moisture in the charging port even though I have not had the phone in any water or moisture area. I’ve tried blowing the charging port with warm air to dry out any potential moisture but to no avail. What are my options?

Solution: It’s possible that this could just be caused by a software glitch. If this is the case then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Make sure that your phone is running on the latest software version.
  • Restart the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Not Turning On With Blue Flashing LED

Problem: I went to turn on my phone this morning and nothing will come up.  Only a blue button flashing in the top left corner of the screen.  Tried holding the power button, volume button and still nothing.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to make sure that the battery of your phone has sufficient charge by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris that might be stuck in this port.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord or try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

If the issue persists then try starting the phone in recovery mode and from here perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.
