The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is the latest flagship phone from the South Korean giant that has several outstanding new features. The first thing you will notice about this device is that despite it having a 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display the phone still feels very handy and is in fact similar in size from last years S7 which sports a 5.1 inch display. Although this is a solid performing device there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. S8 Turns Off Immediately After Starting
Problem: Everytime I turn on my phone, it turns off again almost immediately. This is not a graceful shutdown as if I deliberately turned it off — the screen just turns black and it’s dead. Sometimes it stays on long enough for me to unlock the screen and start looking at apps, but I have not even been able to get it to stay on long enough for me to even find out which Android version it’s running. A week ago I plugged it into my car charger. As I was plugging in the USB cable it started smoking. I immediately pulled the cable out, but it apparently melted off the contacts in the phone’s USB port. That means I can’t use a cable to connect the phone to my PC to try to salvage my photos, or to recharge the battery. For a few days I used the phone sparingly until the battery went completely dead.
Solution: It looks like some component of the phone got damaged when you used a car charger. The troubleshooting steps recommended for this type of issue are listed below.
- Clean the charging port using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
- Try charging your phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.
- If the phone does not charge then try connecting it to a computer USB port.
- Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Screen Is Black
Problem: Hi, so i am having an issue with my phone’s screen staying black. it will recognize me touching the screen and everything but it will not light up for me to see anything. i have tried all the reset options and booting it in safe mode and recovery mode and nothing. when i have noticed that when i turn it on it very briefly flashes dark then turns black again. any ideas? i’m very stumped on this.
Solution: It’s likely that the display of the phone is faulty. Have you dropped your phone or gotten it wet recently? If you have then this can cause this kind of problem. What you will want to do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then check if the screen works in this mode. If it does then you should do a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. If the screen is still black even in recovery mode then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Call Can’t Be Heard While On Speakerphone
Problem: Hello, I’ve been dealing with this issue for quite a while. For some reason, when I put my phone on speaker, the other end of the call cannot hear me. I can hear on my end, but not the other way. I don’t seem to see any options I may have switched off or on to cause this. I’ve tried resets and such, but no luck. I’m hoping it’s something simple you can help me with. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks
Solution: Make sure to check if your phone is running on the latest software version before performing the troubleshooting steps listed below.
What you will want to do first in this case is to check if the same issue occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then you will have to perform a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Has Green Spot On Screen
Problem: So I dropped it and on the right side there is green spot or speck and I never seen green before it’s smooth on the screen but when I turn the screen off the green spot also disappear to. So I want to know the what it is. Thank you for looking into this.
Solution: The green spot is most likely a pixel or group of pixels that have been damaged by the drop. To check if this is the case you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the problem still occurs then this is already a hardware related problem caused by a damaged display. If the green spot is just small then you can just ignore this as it won’t affect the phone performance. However, if it hinders the way you use your phone then you might want to have the display of your phone replaced.
S8 Slow Charging
Problem: My phone does not charge like it use to. Whenever I plug my phone into the Charger it pulls up a prompt saying that it is on slow charge.
Related Problem: I bought my phone 4 months ago but it is not charging. I went to the store so that they help me out, and they say that the problem was my charger. But I have a year guaranty over the phone and I would like either to fix it or get a new one
Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in the port. Next, try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger. In case the issue still persists then you should consider doing a factory reset to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Settings App Stops Working
Problem: Settings app stop when making any security or screen changes. Shuts down when trying to open lock screen and security. Wiped data and cache in settings, removed Google account, and uninstall updated for Bixby with no changes. Phone has secure startup and need to know if I can still do factory reset since I can’t disable it
Solution: A factory reset is highly recommended in this particular issue. Just make sure you know the Google account associated with the phone before performing the reset.
S8 Not Turning On
Problem: I was charging my phone it had 15 % battery when all of a sudden my phone turn off the last thing it did was pop up the logo off samsung and now it wont turn on at all i tried doing the resets and nothing i went and bought a new charger as well and nothing
Solution: Try pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then you need to have this checked at a service center.
