The phone uses a 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display that curves around both edges and has a resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels. Viewing various multimedia content on the phone is a great experience due to this. Aside from the display the phone also uses top of the line hardware component making it operate smoothly. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 screen is flickering has burn in issue & other related problems.

S8 Screen Is Flickering Has Burn In

Problem: I bought my galaxy s8 7 month ago . after 4 month i had a flickering issue .the sign of an application was curved on my screen and i could see and recognize it in different situations such as watching movies ,playing … Then i sent my phone to a samsung authorized customer service center and they changed the lcd .the problem was fixed but after three month that problem occurred again. What can i do to solve the problem?

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to check if the problem is caused by an app you installed in the phone. To do this you will need to start your phone in Safe Mode. Once the phone is in this mode check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest that you do a factory reset to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If after the reset the problem still occurs then this is most likely a hardware related problem caused by a faulty display assembly. You will need to have this checked again at a service center and have it fixed.

To prevent the display from having any burn in issues in the future you should make sure to prevent any static image from being displayed on the phone for a long period of time.

S8 Part Of Screen Is Black

Problem: Hi, I am having a problem with my Samsung galaxy s8. I dropped it a few months ago but was still working fine till last night. When i woke up the 3/4 of the screen would turn white then yellowish green and the other part is black and can not see anything on the screen even though i can hear when people call and message. I have to mention when I woke up I was laying on it which has happened several times in the past but phone was always fine. Do you guys think you can help? I am currently in Africa and there is no Samsung stores here

Solution: It’s very likely that this is already a hardware related problem caused by a faulty display assembly. You can however try to troubleshoot this by checking if a software glitch is causing the problem by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will most likely need to have the display of the phone replaced at a service center.

S8 Screen Will Not Turn On

Problem: My phone screen won’t turn on. I see a blue light blinking indicating a notification but can’t turn the screen on. I’ve tried to power down, force power down (holding power button and volume down for 10 sec) but nothing works and blue light continues to blink.

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing this then connect your phone to a charger and let it charge for at least 20 minutes. Try turning on the phone after this by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons.

If the issue persists then try checking if you are able to access the recovery mode. From here you will need to do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
