S8 Recent App Key Randomly Activating

Problem: The soft key that allows you to switch between apps or close all apps seems to be getting ‘stuck’. I will be doing something on my phone and then all of a sudden it will start flipping between apps I have not closed out all on its own, and continue for any length of time. If there are no apps open it will just flip between screens on the home screen. Trying to touch the screen when it is spasming is useless. It’s impossible to turn the phone off. Only thing I can do is wait for it to finish it’s tantrums. It does not matter what apps are open or being used, nor does the amount of time being on the phone. Turning it on and off doesn’t help. Restart don’t help. And a factory reset done no good. Also after this started texting has become a headache because it think you hit one letter when you actually hit another. Not sure of the 2 are related. The screen spasms are my main issue though. Please say you know a cure!?!

Solution: Since you mentioned that a factory reset does not help fix the problem then it’s very likely that this is already caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly. The best thing that you can do right nowis to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Blocking Specific Range Of Numbers

Problem: I want to block a specific range of numbers on my new Samsung S8. However, I don’t get the “match criteria” option to enter the starting four digits of the number range. The only option I have is to enter a specific number. This is really frustrating, as on my old S4, I was able to do it. Any suggestions?

Solution: Right now the only method to block a number on the phone is to input the number one at a time.

  • From a Home screen, tap Phone
  • Tap the Menu icon  located on the upper right side the tap on Settings
  • Tap Block numbers.
  • Enter the desired number to block, or select the Contacts icon to select a number from your contacts.
  • Select the Add icon.
  • You can also BLOCK ANONYMOUS CALLS: Select the Block unknown callers.

S8 Not Turning On After Recording Underwater

Problem: I used my s8 before to record underwater for a little bit and there was no issue. Got a replacement s8 after my phone was stolen and tried recording again and now the phone doesnt turn on anymore and you can see droplets of water in the camera of the phone from the outside. How do i get this fixed

Solution: It looks like water might have entered your phone. Although this model is waterproof there’s still a chance that water will enter the device is the water seals are broken. The best thing that you can do right now is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done check if the phone can turn on. If the issue persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Warning Camera Failed Error

Problem: Hi I am having problems with my camera front and back and it is saying warning camera failed, have tried everything to fix it and followed every step that has been provided but still nothing ? What would be my next step? Return to the store?

Solution: You should try clearing the cache and data of the camera app from the application manager. If the issue still occurs then you should start the phone in Safe Mode and check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. One last troubleshooting step that you should do is a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as the problem could already be caused by a damaged camera module.

S8 Screen Freezes Went Black

Problem: My phone’s screen froze and went black. It vibrates when my thumb hits the home button but won’t light up or turn on. I NEED MY PHONE FOR WORK!!!!!!

Solution: What you should do right now is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge by charging the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger. Once the phone has charged remove the microSD card of the phone (if your phone has one installed) then press and hold the power button and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If the issue persists then try starting the phone in recovery mode and from here perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Can’t Open Pictures Saved In microSD Card

Problem: Hi, I have Note 4 and it just started last night.  I’ve noticed that I have a problem in my gallery, when I open the camera to take pictures and save them in my SD Card 32Gb, I go to the gallery and I tap to see the pictures, I see a black screen with and exclamation mark ! and when I shoot a video and try to open it, I find “Sorry, this video cannot be played” I changed the storage to device, the images appear normal, but when I changed the same images to the SD Card I couldn’t see them! I don’t know what’s wrong with it, please can you help? is there any way to recover the photos and videos that are on the sd card.  Whats crazy the camera showed the pictures being stored on the phone while i was taking them and the videos but once i went to gallery to open them they were gone. Would an overheating battery issue cause this to happen.

Solution: It’s very likely that the microSD card of the phone has developed corrupt sectors which is causing this problem. You will need to replace this microSD card. As for the photos and videos stored in the card you can try recovering them using your computer. Just connect the microSD card to your computer ( you will need a card reader to do this) then using the file explorer program check if you can copy the contents of the card to the computer.

S8 Screen Goes Black

Problem: Hi there, I just got phone and am new to the Android game, so I have several questions and a few problems I hope you can help with. Most annoying problem is the screen will go black every few minutes. It will stay off for a few seconds and then come back and be fine. Also every few minutes… for example, I’ll be going through my emails and mad selecting a bunch to be deleted. All of a sudden, the email list resets itself and my selections disappear. Similar thing with the settings app: every so often it resets itself and scrolls back to the top. Not quite as disruptive as with emails, but still annoying and send related. Note that this is a Verizon phone , so by default it is connected to mobile internet even though I don’t have a wireless plan. Could these problems be related? Also, how do i take a screenshot without wiping the side of my palm all over the screen? I feel like I’ve tapped every combination of the power, home, and volume buttons with no success–anything with the home button brings up Google’s version of Siri, and the volume buttons raise or lower volume. Power+Volume Down seems to do some kind of soft reset when pressed long enough. Where is the long (em or en) dash button? Does that exist on the Android keyboard?

Solution: The best thing that you should do right now is to remove the microSD card of the phone ( if you have one installed) then backup your phone data. Once this is done perform a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to have this checked at a service center.
