S8 Not Sending Video In Email

Problem: I have two issues with my Samsung S8 I didn’t have with the others;  For  one, the voice recognition is very poor, including grammar and doesn’t offer to correct; I have to do it manually.   Also, I’m trying to email a video I took that is 34 mb and it will not send;  Is this file too large?  It’s only 17 seconds;  Thanks;  I want my s5 back

Solution: Most email providers have a file size limit for attachments that you send out. Gmail for instance limits the attached file size to 25MB so if you are using Gmail to send out the video file then the 34MB file size is over the limit which is why it will not send out.

To send this file to your contact you can try to upload it to your Google Drive then make sure that the recipient has access to the file in your drive. Just give them the link to the uploaded file so that they can download it.

Another way around this is to upload the video file to YouTube then provide the link to the recipient.

Regarding the issue of voice recognition you should make sure to speak clearly to the phone and in an environment that is not noisy. In case the issue persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S8 Not Turning On After Overnight Charging

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 and I left it to charge last night with my Mac’s USB-C charger. This morning I heard it buzz, but when I looked at it, the screen was black. Now, it won’t turn on at all, won’t show that it’s charging, and when I hold the power button (even to perform any of the resets), all that shows is a small white bar that appears for a split second then goes black again. Never happened before and I’ve had the phone for a year now. Hope you can help, thanks!

Solution: To fix this problem the first thing that you will need to do is to remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed. Once this is done press and hold the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • Turn on the phone.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Server Error Occured When Using Front Camera

Problem: Server error occurred restart camera. This is what I see when I try to use my front facing camera. I have done all the steps in your tutorial. Checking in safe mode, wiping cache partition, and finally factory resetting, and it still doesn’t work. Also my wireless charger doesn’t work

Solution: Since a factory reset does not fix the problem then the camera module might already be damaged. You will need to have this checked at a service center.

For the wireless charging issue of the phone try to remove the case if your phone has one installed. You should also try using a different wireless charger as this charger might not be working.

S8 Not Recognizing microSD Card

Problem: My wife and I both have Samsung Galaxy S8 and hers has just recently gave an error that the SD card is not recognized but my phone will recognize it no problem. The card is a Sandisk 64GB card. I try to format the card and it gets to 20 percent and stops and throws up an error code involving stacking. I can then throw it in my phone and it will work fine. I tried a 4GB PNY card in her phone and it will do the same issue. I did notice that if I format the card in my phone and then put it in her phone, it seems fine until I take a photo and then an error message appears stating that it is unable to save the picture on the SD card and has switched to the device storage. Is this a phone issue or SD card issue? Thanks.

Solution: To check if the problem is caused by the phone I recommend that you perform a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing a reset. Once the reset is complete install a new microSD card on the phone then check if the problem still occurs. If it does then this might already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Keeps Turning Off Randomly

Problem: my phone keeps turning off and then on randomly. i thought it was a problem with overheating so i let it cool down then turn on it worked but then switched itself of. Now if it turns on then off on its on and glitches in the process if the blue light in the corner doesn’t turn on then the phone altogether won’t go on if the blue light goes on the phone  four flashes and then the samsung but then in the process the phone altogether can turn off

Related Problem: Hi, there is an issue with my Samsung Galaxy S8. It keeps turning off and on and then off again really quickly, or not even turn on and just keep showing “Samsung, powered by android” repeatedly. The only way to stop it is by charging or taking the battery out. I bought this phone 3/4 months ago. And even if I use it while charging, it turns off when I open Snapchat, Instagram (just scrolling through my feed), Messenger or camera, it turns off automatically. When I try to turn it on again by pressing the power button, it says that the battery is at 0% and should charge the phone even though the battery was at like 80%/90% when it turned off. I tried soft reset, using it on safe mode but it didn’t work. Please help me, is there really no other choice BUT to do factory reset?

Solution: If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing it first as this might be causing the problem. In case the issue persists then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Freezes When Watching Videos

Problem: When I’m watching any video it freezes, skips, and started from the beginning. It takes twice as long  to watch a 30 second video.

Solution: If you are streaming the video then make sure that the phone has a strong Internet connection. If the video file is stored in the phone then try moving it from the microSD card to the internal storage as the card might have speed issues.

In case the issue still persists then perform the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the problem occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
