Welcome to another installment of our troubleshooting series where we aim to help our readers who own the #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 fix the issues that they are experiencing with their phone. This particular model is the current flagship device of the company and is equipped with some of the best features found on a smartphone. The phone uses a 5.8 inch Super AMOLEd display that is HDR10 compliant. It also uses a Snapdragon 835 or an Exynos 8895 processor combined with 4GB of RAM allowing the phone to perform smoothly under any condition. Although this is a solid performing device there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. Today we will tackle the Galaxy S8 camera fails to work issue & other related problems.
S8 Camera Fails To Work
Problem: Samsung S8 camera failed. Failed after having device work well 8 months. This applies to my wife’s phone not mine. One week after she got it she dropped it six inches from the floor and it suffered a tiny crack on the upper right hand corner. AT&T voids all warranties in this case. We purchased 2 phones in the initial rollout as BOGO. We have exhausted all possible fixes with help of AT&T via phone contact. CSR was nice, patient and helpful and we spent 2 hours on the phone with her. CAMERA STILL WON’T WORK. Samsung is the problem. They put out a defective product AGAIN! If we had known AT&T was going to offer iPhone at BOGO deal we would have waited. Only reason why we got new phones is the battery on both iPhones from 2011 were failing.
Solution: The best way to troubleshoot this problem is to first check if it is caused by a software glitch by following the steps listed below. After performing each step immediately check if the issue still occurs and if it does then proceed to the next step.
- Clear the cache and data of the camera app from the application manager.
- Check if the issue occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then the camera module of the phone is most likely damaged. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.
S8 Stuck On Boot Logo
Problem: Hello! so my samsung s8 won’t power off. It is just stuck on the first page. i turned it on and have the s8 logo and powered by Android . it has some digits and info on top. now the phone won’t power off. when i hold down the volume down and power button, it just goes off and power on to the same old page
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing this as this could be causing the problem. I also recommend that you start your phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
S8 Not Fast Charging
Problem: My galaxy s8 is only a couple of months old, but I have had a lot of problems with it fast charging lately. It often takes many tries to get it to fast charge even though i am using the original cable and wall adapter that came with the phone.
Solution: This problem can sometimes be caused by a faulty charging cord or dirt present in the charging port of the phone. Try cleaning the charging port of the phone first using a can of compressed air. If this doesn’t fix the problem then you should use a different charging cord to charge your phone.
S8 Keeps On Displaying Ads
Problem: Hi. With my Samsung S8 I am having trouble in removing annoying ads by www.hitcpm.com. When I open a web page it automatically redirects me to a www.hitcpm.com page. This malware or adware has invaded my mobile. How to get rid of www.hitcpm.com? Please Help.
Solution: The best way to fix this problem is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S8 Charging Cord Got Wet
Problem: When coming home from work, my fast charge cable fell out of my hoodie pocket and landed in the street. Of course, the street was full of slush, icy snow & snow. I did not feel any wetness at either port. I dried each end off just in case. Can I use this cord?
Solution: As long as the metal contacts on both ends of the cord are dry then you will be able to use the cord safely. Just to be sure let the cord dry under the sun for a day or you can also place it in front of a fan so that any moisture present will evaporate.
S8 LED Light Not Working
Problem: My LED light on my Samsung S8 is not working. It was fine until I had the screen replaced. Now it doesn’t illuminate when I get a message, miss a call, when charging… nothing. Please help!! The phone repair store said it has nothing to do with the screen being replaced. It’s all “turned on” in settings. It’s brand new!! Don’t know the Android version.
Solution: The best way to fix this problem is to backup your phone data then do factory reset. If after the reset the issue still occurs then this is most likely a hardware related problem already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Turns Off On Its Own
Problem: Every morning I wake up my phone is off and I have to do the volume down and power button thing then it works fine wondering why it turns off on its own. how do I fix.
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then this could be causing the problem. Try removing the card then check if the issue still occurs.
Another possible factor that can cause this problem is an app you downloaded. To check if this is the case you need to start the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
