S7 Will Not Fast Charge
Problem: My phone will not fast charge. If it’s at 90% battery life it takes 60 minutes to gain 10%. I’ve cleared the system cache, I don’t have any malware apps, I’ve tried draining the battery all the way down then charging it, I’ve tried putting it in safe mode and charging it, I can’t do a soft reset with the internal battery, I’ve tried many different samsung chargers. I’ve run out of ideas and from what the forums have said, a hard reset doesn’t usually fix the issue. I appreciate any help I can get.
Solution: You should try cleaning the charging port using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed. Once this is done try using a different charging cord and wall charger ( must have an output of at least 2A).
In case the issue persists then you should consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then your phone might have a faulty battery. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Screen Is Unresponsive After Drop
Problem: My screen has become unresponsive after I dropped it. there is rainbow like colors on screen corner. tried force restart. but can’t punch in the PIN. so it can’t restart.
Solution: It’s very likely that the display has been damaged by the drop judging from the rainbow colors that appear on the corner and the fact that it is now unresponsive. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked. It’s very likely that you will need to have the display assembly replaced.
S7 Insufficient Storage Error
Problem: I had a recurring problem with my galaxy s7 saying insufficient storage even tho I has 13gb free I’ve used the hidden menu *#9900# and used the 2nd one down which seems to have sorted it out but I’ve put 2 sd cards in and they either get corrupted or something they won’t be recognised on any other device all content has gone seems to work fine until I put an sd card in then it comes up with insufficient space again ?? Not sure what version I’m on it says version 7
Solution: What you will want to do right now is to check the internal storage capacity of the phone. If it is low ( only a few MB left) then you will be getting the insufficient storage error. What you will want to do right now is to make room for more storage space in your phone by following the steps listed below.
- Uninstall apps that you don’t regularly use
- Move your video or music files from the internal storage to the microSD card.
- Clear the system cache of the phone.
If your phone has sufficient internal storage space but you are still getting the error message then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S7 Message Sending Failed After Software Update
Problem: I had an update from Android. Since the update, my messaging system is messed up. I can send a message to any of my Contacts without it coming back and saying it failed, but actually was sent.
Related Problem: Hi, Ever since my phone updated in August, all text I send say failed whether the recipient receives the message or not. I did not do this prior to the update. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7
Related Problem: Since the software push to my samsung galaxy s7 a month ago, all of my outgoing SMS text messages state “Not sent. Tap to try again.” My outgoing MMS messages seem to send fine. I have tried everything including a factory reset and nothing has improved.
Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and the issue still persists then this is caused by a bug in the latest software update. The best thing to do right now is to check for a newer software update and install it immediately. The new update will have the fix for this bug.
S7 Received Text Messages Appear On Top Of Conversation
Problem: My wife’s s7 receives text messages and sends them too but when she receives the texts the received ones go to the top of the conversation. She has to scroll up to see the answers to any of her questions. Any ideas.
Solution: The best way to fix this issue is to clear the cache and data of the text messaging app from the application manager. Once this is done the issue will be resolved.
S7 Only Plays Default Notification Sounds
Problem: My new Samsung Galaxy S7 plays only the default notification sound even though I have other sounds selected for messages and calendar and individual contacts. Via my PC I loaded my own custom ringtones and notification sounds and now I see that all of the Verizon sounds have disappeared. Also, when I scroll through the lists of ringtones and notification sounds no sound occurs when I select any of them.
Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to check that the notification format that you have chosen is playable on the phone. It’s best if you use the mp3 format. If the notification sounds are stored in the microSD card of the phone then try moving them to the internal storage of the phone then check if this fixes the problem. In case the issue persists then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
