S7 Stops Charging

Problem: I’ve always been an iPhone user and recently decided to change to android. Less than a week ago I purchased a samsung galaxy s7. For the last two nights while charging my phone it has stopped mid charge. One night it stopped at 62% and tonight at 50%. Charger is the charger that came with the phone and it’s plugged in perfectly on both ends. Could you shed some light on this please.

Solution: It looks like the charging process has been interrupted somehow. Try plugging the charger in a different power outlet. You should also try using a different charging cord and wall charger when charging the phone.

Sometimes dirt or debris stuck in the charging port can also cause the phone to stop charging. If this is the case then you have to clean the charging port using a can of compressed air.

If the issue persists then do the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the phone charges completely when in this mode. If it does then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded since only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while your phone is started in this mode. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Will Not Turn On

Problem: My galaxy s7 will not turn on anymore. I was going to put something onto my phone from my computer and when i connected it, it just turned off and now it wont turn back on. It wont soft reset since it seems like none of the buttons are working and I have tried charging it but nothing will happen

Solution: Did you use a USB cord to connect the phone to your computer? If it turned off when this happened then there might have been an electrical short that occurred causing the phone to turn off. Try simultaneously pressing the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. If your phone does not reboot then charge it for at least 20 minutes. If necessary try using different charging cords and wall chargers. If you still get no response from the phone then you should bring this to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Blue LED Flashing Screen Is Black

Problem: Hi this morning when i woke up the blue LED light was flashing on my samsung S7 but the screen was black and not working i tried rebooting it all the different ways and nothing worked. Throughout the day the battery must have drained i’ve plugged it in when i have got home but it is not charging either and still wont reboot any way. Im hoping you could point me in the direction of what to do next as i really don’t want to loose everything off my phone.  Hope you can help  

Solution: For this particular problem you will need to simulate a battery pull. Simultaneously press and hold the power button and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Normally, your phone should reboot after performing this step.

If it doesn’t boot up then try connecting it first to its charger for at least 20 minutes then do the above step again.

You should also check if the phone can start in recovery mode. If it does then I recommend that you do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest that you have your phone checked at a service center.

S7 IMS Service Has Stopped After Software Update

Problem: Hi I recently updated my phone overnight and when I woke up it was burning hot and it keeps having pop up that says com.sec.epdg has stopped. Another one that says IMS service has stopped and on occasion it says process system is not  responding. Please help me I have many baby picture on there that I yet have to develop . HELP ME

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to turn off the phone by a long press of the power button. Once the phone is off start it in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then you should make a backup of your phone data. As soon as the backup has been made proceed with a factory reset. You can do the reset from Safe Mode or from the recovery mode.

S7 Unresponsive After Software Update

Problem: Hi, I have a galaxy s7 active. It updated to nougat and now is completely unresponsive. No lights, no button work. So i have two questions for this, one, does the phone still charge, and two how can i get this to work again.

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge. Connect the phone to a charger and let it charge for at least 20 minutes. If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord. After 20 minutes do a simulated battery bull by simultaneously pressing the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. If the phone does not restart then you should check if you can access the recovery mode. Once the phone is in recovery mode you will have to do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Freezing Randomly Restarting

Problem: hi,i have problem,my samsung s7 freezing and auto restart…when i update my apps in google play…and other….when restart is repeat 10-15 times can help me? thanks a lot

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing this as this could be causing the problem.

You should also consider doing a factory reset as this issue appears to be caused by a software glitch. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
