S7 Randomly Freezes Reboots

Problem: Hi my samsung s7 has started to randomly freeze and reboot and then wont load the samsung logo sometimes it just loads the sa then freezes and restarts and then it might load the same then the cycle continues until it loads the samsung and starts up. And it will work fine sometimes for weeks and sometimes a few days sometimes it freezes multiple times in a day as it is so random it is hard to resolve what this issue is i have tried factory reset and clearing caches but it still happens i would be very grateful if you would help me as o2 are useless and so are samsung please can you help me

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it then observe if the issue still occurs. In case it does or if you don’t have a microSD card installed then perform the following troubleshooting steps.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it’s very likely that an app you downloaded is causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be a hardware related issue in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Not Charging After Getting Wet

Problem: My phone came into contact with some water but i immediately dried it off. Before this happened: The phone would only charge at certain angles (it was already sensitive like that before contact with water). The phone became a little laggy after an update a while ago like keyboard freezing and staying on screen etc. Soon before contact with water the phone battery was already dropping faster than usual. After contact with water: The phone will not charge anymore. It takes about 3 hours to get a few % charged and then the battery drops a % as the minutes go by. Even while the charger is in, the battery is dropping. Once the phone turns off it takes HOURS to charge at 1%. It’s been 2 days and I’m really struggling. I deleted a lot of apps and cleared the caches of other apps. I don’t know if it’s definitely the water damage either because it was already building up about week before. Please please help i want your advice rather than going to a local technician who could rob me off with any explanation. Thanks for your time

Solution: Before the phone got wet it’s already very likely that it is suffering from some component failure. The first concern is that the charging port of the phone might already be faulty since the phone has to be held at a certain angle for it to charge. There’s also a possibility that the charging cord you are using is not working properly so in order to check if this is the case you will need to try using a different charging cord.

The issue with the phone lagging and freezing after an update can be caused by a software glitch. You will have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset for this issue.

With the phone coming into contact with water the charging issue has worsened. This might be due to water entering the device. While the phone has a water and dust resistance feature there are still instances when liquid can enter the device especially if the water seals are broken.

The best way to proceed in this particular issue is to make sure that the inside of the phone is free from any moisture. Place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the device. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Overheated Screen Went Black

Problem: Last night my phone overheated and the screen went black. I removed it from the case to allow it to cool. Once cool i put it on my fast charger. When I tried to turn it on it wouldn’t start so I tried to reboot it (power and vol down key) It got stuck at the initial screen of Samsung Galaxy S7 I then tried the wipe system cache procedure but it still didn’t go past the Samsung galaxy S7 screen when I rebooted It. I am not confident to try to remove the battery as its a sealed phone. Please advise. It’s out of it’s warranty by 2 weeks! It charges fine and I can only turn it off when I hook it onto the charger, and use the power and vol down key.

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it as sometimes a corrupt card can cause this particular problem. You should also consider doing a factory reset from the recovery mode to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this might already be a hardware related issue in which case you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 No Network Connection When Using S Voice

Problem: Hello. I have just bought an S7. When I launch S Voice it says “No network connection. No signal has been found for mobile networks.” However I am using my mobile data currently to contact you. My actual issue is that I can hear callers but they can’t hear me unless I use speakerphone. My research has led me to believe once S Voice is working properly, callers will be able to hear me. Thank you

Solution: The best way to fix this issue is to clear the cache and data of the S Voice app from the application manager. Once this is done try checking if the issue still occurs. If the issue persists then you will have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S7 Resending Old Text Messages On Message+ App

Problem: I use the standard Message+ messaging system on my S7. Within the last 2 months, people have told me that I am resending messages from the past. For example, a friend showed me a message that they received from me on a Friday that they had then received again the following Thursday. I occasionally will restart my phone, so I don’t think that the soft reset has fixed the issue. Any help you might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated!

Solution: This appears to be caused by some corrupt data in the Message+ app. To fix this just clear the cache and data of this app from the application manager.

S7 Screen Not Turning On With Blue LED Light Blinking

Problem: Galaxy S7 – Screen doesn’t turn on, blue light blinking, still receiving notifications. Done reset (Power and Volume Down buttons). Issues began after phone fell once. Please help.

Solution: This might already be a hardware related problem possibly caused by a faulty display since this problem occured right after you dropped the phone. The best troubleshooting that you can do right now is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch by starting the phone in recovery mode then doing a factory reset from there. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. If this doesn’t work then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Feedback During Calls

Problem: When someone calls me or I call them, they hear themselves with a delay (feedback). If I plug in headphones then there is no feedback. Happening with multiple people, and also messenger calls as well as regular phone calls. Have restarted the device, made no difference. Have tried two sims for two countries, no difference.

Solution: Try doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data first before doing the reset. If the problem persists then this could already be a hardware related issue in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Recording Format Not Supported

Problem: My Phone tells me that my own personal recordings, the format, is not supported by my phone, meaning I can’t play them. Also, in trying to transfer files between my phone and SD card, they come up with a grey image instead with an exclamation point on it. I have lost photos, videos and recordings won’t play, was just wondering if you had any ideas.

Solution: It looks like this could be caused by a software glitch which is causing the photos, videos, and recordings to become corrupted. The best way to fix this problem is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
