S7 Edge Not Recognizing microSD Card

Problem: My phone was recognizing my SD card but no longer does. I checked the card on my computer and it works. Is there a setting that I may have accidentally chafed that could have the phone not access the card or what could out be. I have conducted the reboot and cache clear but still not working.

Solution: Your phone should automatically detect a microSD card if you have inserted one in the microSD card slot. If the phone can’t read the card then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Remove the microSD card from your phone then turn off the phone.
  • Reinsert the microSD card then turn on the phone.
  • If the card is not recognized then try starting your phone in Safe Mode then check if the card is detected. If it is detected then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • If the card is not detected in Safe Mode then try inserting a different microSD card in your phone. If it still is not detected then this might already be a hardware related issue in which case you will need to have this checked at a service center.

S7 Edge Won’t Charge

Problem: My Samsung galaxy s7 edge won’t charge i’ve used numerous chargers but still says moisture detected in the USB port now the battery is dead even when I try to charge it shows the battery on screen but no indicator showing it charging also my phone won’t turn on anymore any advice what I should do thanks

Solution: If you are getting the moisture detected error on your phone then the first thing that you will need to do is to make sure that the charging port is dry.

  • Use a vacuum to dry the charging port.
  • If you don’t have a vacuum then you can use a hair dryer to dry the charging port.
  • Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • Try checking if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
  • If you have a wireless charger then try charging the phone wirelessly.

In case the phone still does not turn on then you will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge Overheats And Reboots Constantly

Problem: Phone has been overheating and reboots itself constantly but never comes to the home screen, only the android welcome screen. I then had it in front of my cars aircon even. It is now frozen on the ‘samsung galaxy s7 edge, powered by android’ screen and has frozen with the LED indicator constantly on, tried everything with rebooting and pressing volume buttons with home button but nothing seems to work. Samsung refuses to help me as my phone is out of warranty of only 5 days yet they can’t help me out. so frustrated!! not impressed with samsung service.

Solution: Sometimes a faulty microSD card can cause this problem. If your phone has a microSD card installed then I recommend that you remove it first then try to check if the issue still occurs.

In case the phone does not have a microSD card or if the issue still occurs even when the card is removed then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Try to check if the phone can start in Safe Mode. If you are able to access this mode then I suggest that you backup your phone data. It’s also very likely that an app you installed is causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • In case you are unable to start the phone in Safe Mode then you should try starting the phone in recovery mode. From here you will need to perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should try flashing your phone with its updated stock firmware file. You can get this file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.

S7 Edge Keyboard Lag

Problem: Two issues. Number one my keyboard sometimes reacts really late or doesn’t show up at all or is hard to remove off of the screen and that’s only happened within the last week and a half. Number two whenever I’m in the text messages and I’m in a conversation I want to send a picture to that person that I’m in the conversation I select an attachment but then my phone wants me to select whether it’s a new contact on an existing contact. How do I make it stop asking me that?

Solution: To fix this problem you will need to clear the cache and data of the keyboard app from the application manager. This will eliminate the keyboard lag. Regarding the attachment issue that you are experiencing with the messaging app I suggest that you also try to clear the cache and data of the messaging app from the application manager.

S7 Edge Wi-Fi Is Greyed Out

Problem: My S7 edge is a recently purchased device. Without Wi-Fi, the phone is extremely limited. I’m not able to turn the Wi-Fi on whatsoever; The bar is greyed out. I need ASAP. PLease help.

Solution: The best thing that you can do in this particular issue is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This way you will be able to verify if this is caused by a software glitch. In case the Wi-Fi switch is still greyed out after the reset then it’s very likely that that your phone has a faulty Wi-Fi chip. You will need to have this checked at a service center. If the chip is found to be faulty then you should have this replaced.

S7 Edge Screen Has Pinkish Tint

Problem: 3/4 of my screen has a pinkish tint to for.example on a white background i can see 2 colours, 1 that is white and the other that is slightly pink. Any idea how to fix it? Or do i need to replace my screen?

Solution: Try checking first if the issue is caused by an app you installed. To do this just start the phone in Safe Mode since in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the issue occurs in Safe Mode then one other troubleshooting step that you can do is a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then it’s very likely that the phone has a faulty display. You should have this checked and replaced at a service center.

S7 Edge Notification Tray Crashes

Problem: Recently my Galaxy S7E notification tray has been closing itself. When I swipe down to read my notifications the tray will swipe itself back up sporadically. Sometimes immediately, sometimes after a few seconds. This has only started happening in the last few weeks so I’m wondering if it’s related to my latest update. Whatever the case, I need this fixed. It’s utterly obnoxious. Thanks for an insight you can provide.

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to start the phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of your device. Once this is done restart the phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then verify if you are using a third party app launcher. If you are then try uninstalling this and use the stock launcher of the phone.

In case the issue persists then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
