The #Samsung #Galaxy #S7Edge is one of the two flagship phones that Samsung released last year which became an instant hit among consumers. The phone sports a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display that curves around the edges, a fast Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 12MP f/1.7 OIS camera, and 3600 mAh battery just to name a few. The phone even has waterproofing and dustproofing which allows the device to be used in less than ideal environments. Although this is a solid phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S7 Edge only charges when phone is off issue & other related problems.

S7 Edge Only Charges When Phone Is Off
Problem: My samsung galaxy s7 edge now only charges when the phone is switched off, and then it takes hours. I suspect a battery or charging port problem can you advise.
Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that it isn’t the charger or charging cord that is causing the problem. Try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone. In case the issue still persists then this might be caused by a faulty charging port. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
S7 Edge Flickering Screen
Problem: I have a galaxy s7 & it wants to work but it constantly displays either a blank (black) screen or it’s flickering green but you can still use the phone if you guess at what buttons you’re pushing!
Solution: The best way to fix this problem is to backup your phone data ( if you are able to do so. Try using Smart Switch) then perform a factory reset. You can also try doing a factory reset from the recovery mode.
In case the above step fails to fix the problem then your phone might have a damaged display. The best way to proceed in this case is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked. You will probably need to have the display assembly replaced at the service center.
S7 Edge Recovering Data When Phone Is Off
Problem: Hello, I have a dead Samsung S7 edge. No possibilities to reboot it. It has frozen yesterday during beeing in the Internet and now I have a black screen. No key combinations brought back my phone. Question: how I can access to the stored files if nothing will be shown in windows explorer nor adb.exe device will show nothing in his list. I need absolutely one file from the phone.
Solution: Unfortunately there is no way for you to access the data stored in the phone unless you are able to turn on the device. The best thing to do right now is to have the phone fixed at a service center.
PS7 Edge Screen Flashing White
Problem: Heya, so I’ve had my phone for a year now, and I had dropped it about 5 times, 4 of which was within the first week of having it. The fifth drop was about two months before the screen issue. That started around five days ago- I went to bed and it was fine, woke up, saw that I had forgotten to charge it, so I go to plug it in. All is good, I’m quickly checking my email when all of a sudden the screen starts flashing white. Then green, and pink and more white. I was truly scared and confused, thinking it was some kind of virus. I’ve tried the troubleshooting thing and clearing the cache but still no change. My dad thinks its because I kept dropping it but it’s been fine for ages. On top of that I can still use it if I squint, although pulling down the notifications box or pressing the home button causes it to go black. Is this screen related or the update, or some other issue and do I need to bring it to a repair shop to get it sorted?
Solution: It’s very likely that the display got damaged due to the numerous drops that it has suffered. The best way to troubleshoot this issue is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. Once this is done try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Screen Became Solid White
Problem: I removed a curved glass protector from my S7 edge to replace it with one that was not cracked from pushing to hard on it’s bottom right button. As soon as the cover came off the screen went solid white. The phone is on and I can hear activity, vibrations etc. but can’t see anything on the screen. It’s like the brightness just went full on.
Solution: You should try restarting the phone by simultaneously pressing and holding the power button and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. The phone should restart after this. If you are still getting the solid white screen then this is most likely a hardware related problem already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Device Storage Corrupted
Problem: My cell phone reboots automatically and finally shows a message that “Device storage corrupted” and at the bottom “RESET DEVICE” button shows which does not work even u pressed. i tried to factory reset but @ option yes/No the phone get stuck and does not work further!! please help me!!
Solution: This appears to be a hardware related problem already most likely caused by an internal component that is failing to work. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Restarts When Connected To Wi-Fi
Problem: mobile phone keeps on restarting when i turned on my wifi and i already tried removing my SD card. i cant factory reset my phone because whenever i press it i can’t type any password or anything even in message i can’t type any text when i press the black page. what should i do?
Solution: The best way to fix this problem is to do a factory reset as this issue affected several S7 Edge models right after a software update. You will need to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
S7 Edge Not Turning On
Problem: Hi. I charged my phone last night when it was about 20 percent, and when i woke up this morning and tried to turn it on, i couldn’t. I have tried normal startup, force startup/reboot, safe boot and other stuff. I have tried holding the Volume down, power and home key for 10 seconds. Nothing is working. Please help me
Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
- Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes.
- If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port. If you have a wireless charger then try charging your phone using this charger.
- Turn on the phone.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring this phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related issue.
