Although this is a solid performing phone there are still instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. S7 Edge Cannot Open Received Text Messages
Problem: I received text messages in early December that I could not see, open or read, but are still sitting in my Messages folder. First it was 6, now it is up to 18 and the number keeps climbing . I have cleaned out my memory and restarted my phone, but it still says I have 18 unread messages. I have hardly any apps on my phone and my phone also doesn’t accept text messages from certain people and deletes their message almost instantly so I have to create a new message to them every time. My calls are just dropping 24/7 (it just started the last couple months, I do realize it could be my carrier) I have a new baby and do not want to do anything to my phone to jeopardize losing the pictures. Thank you for your help
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to clear the cache and data of the text messaging app as the problem could be caused by a glitch in the app. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. If it does then the next step is to check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem. Start your phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
Should the problem still occur even in Safe Mode then I recommend that you first make sure that your phone is running on the latest software update then perform a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset as this will be erased in the process.
S7 Edge Not Turning On
Problem: My Samsung galaxy just went off this morning..it won’t turn on I’ve tried rebooting it and rebooting in idle mode,but there no power whatsoever..it won’t even charge
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port. Once this is done try charging the phone for at least 20 minutes. If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port. Once the phone has charged try turning it on.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.
S7 Edge Is Not Fast Charging
Problem: Hello. Recently, my S7 Edge stopped fast charging when plugged in. I assumed the problem was the Micro-USB cable, so I went ahead and bought a Studio by Belkin cable. However, this did not solve the issue. I have fast charging enabled in my settings. I have also swapped out the wall adapter to no avail. Any ideas on how to fix it? Does a third party cable hinder fast charging in any way?
Solution: There are several factors that can affect the way the phone fast charges. The usual suspect is the charging cord. If this cord has some broken wires then the phone will not fast charge or not charge at all. Replacing this cord with a new one ( if possible a Samsung cord or any cord from reputable brands) will usually fix the problem. Another possible reason why the phone will not fast charge is the wall charger being used is not able to give the correct output. Try using a different fast charging wall charger ( must have an output rating of at least 2.0A). Dirt present in the charging port will also affect the fast charging process. If the port has dirt in it then try cleaning it using a can of compressed air.
One other factor that can cause this problem is a software glitch. To test is this is the case you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Screen Is Flickering White
Problem: Hi i have a samsung s7 edge. It has been dropped by my children many times. At random the phone starting flickering and the screen when a bright white colour. I could still see some of the screen s it was a light white this happened for like 15 minutes i left the phone alone and after a while it was normal. After few hours the same thing has started happening please help!!
Related Problem: I have a samsung edge 7 that has a cracked screen for 6 months now. All those time my phone worked perfectly fine until last week it started to flicker green light. Sometimes the flickering goes off when watching a video but only for seconds.
Related Problem: My phone all of a sudden is blinking constantly white for about 3/4 of the screen. I can still text because I know where the microphone should be to voice text, and call using the google voice and receive calls.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. To do this you will have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs. If it does then the display might be damaged due to the drops. You will need to have this display checked and possibly replaced at a service center.
S7 Edge Not Recognizing microSD Card
Problem: Hi! I recently bought an s7 edge phone. I tried to use my old microsd card, but the phone didn’t recognize it. While trying to fix a mic problem, I went through all the recommended steps to get the phone to recognize the card (including a factory restart), and it still didn’t work. (And neither did the mic, by the way.) So I bought a brand new microsd, but my phone still doesn’t recognize it… What should I do?
Solution: Try checking if the microSD card is recognized by your computer. You will need a card reader to do this. If it is recognized then this is already a hardware related problem possibly caused by a faulty microSD card reader of the phone. The microphone of the phone could also be faulty. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Screen Lights Up Randomly
Problem: Screen lighting up every few seconds for no reason. I’ve tried starting in safe mode, still does it, I’ve done forced restart. I’ve wiped the cache. Nothing works. So as I’m going back now and just re doing all these steps, to see if by chance it will work, NOW when I try forced restart mode, it goes to a blue screen saying Downloading, Do not turn off target. I waited 5 minutes nothing happened so I just hit power button as it restarted. Still happening. NOTHING will work. Thank you for reading avd helping.
