S7 Charges On And Off

Problem: I have experienced many issues with regards to charging my Galaxy S7. I have had various cables and each one seems to work fine and the phone charges perfectly for a bit but then it starts to charge off and on and only at certain angles. I have taken care of my chargers. They aren’t tied up or damaged. I’m confused as to what the issue could be. Thanks in advance!

Solution: Since you’ve already tried different cables then it’s possible that some dirt or debris trapped in the charging port is causing the problem. Try cleaning the charging port of the phone first using a can of compressed air. Once this is done try charging the phone. Test different charging cords and wall chargers in case the issue persists.

If the issue remains then your last option is to check if this is caused by a software glitch. To do this you will have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Do not install any apps in your phone once this is done instead try checking first if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Gets Hot And Freezes

Problem: One day phone started to get really hot almost burnt to touch. I took it out of the case and it started freezing the screen then ur shut off . Tired factory reset clear the cache and deleted apps after the reset. It’s still semi overheats but not as bad also now the touchscreen legs and sometimes won’t even work I’ve noticed especially in Firefox or to get my keyboard up. Please help

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? Try removing it if it has one as this can usually cause the phone to overheat or freeze especially if the card has corrupted sectors.

In case the issue persists or if your phone does not have a microSD card then the next step is to make sure that your phone is running on the latest software update. You should also make sure that your apps are updated.

Try doing a factory reset again. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Do not install any apps in your phone after the reset. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Getting Virus Pop Ups

Problem: Hi, I keep getting fake virus pops up every time I go online, or even when texting/maps. I use McAfee security & this plus my phone detect no viruses. I recognize this is a scam to download their own security app or plant a virus but I can’t rid of the alerts. I followed steps 1-4 on your website inc factory reset but pop ups still coming! Help please. Thank you

Solution: It’s very likely that this is caused by installing a certain app in your phone or by accessing certain websites that hosts these pop ups. The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset from the recovery mode. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the pop ups still appear.

S7 Fast Charging Not Working

Problem: Hello, I have big problems with my Samsung S7. Normally and fast charge don’t work. I read here but still same problem….i have changed charger ports on phone and still same problem. I now  need 6 hours to full charge my phone. With wireless charger i need 3 hours.

Solution:  Since you have already tried replacing the charging port of the phone which doesn;t fix the problem then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Try using a different charging cord and wall charger. Make sure that the charger has an output rating of at least 2A.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Try charging the phone after the reset.

If the issue remains then the problem could be caused by a faulty battery. You should have this checked at a service center.

S7 microSD Card Stopped Working

Problem: My husband has a Galaxy S7 with a microSD card installed. This weekend the card stopped working and appears corrupted – we cannot view the contents on our computers either.  So today he bought a new microSD card and installed it in the phone. He then linked up with his computer to transfer files.  First his pc saw the card, then a minute later it said it was corrupted, and then it couldn’t even see the card.  So, it appears the new one is now corrupted and it appears the phone is doing it.   Any suggestions?

Solution: It’s possible that the second microSD card that you got is also faulty or the phone itself is damaging the microSD card. The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete insert a new microSD card on the phone. Do not install any apps yet. Try to check first if the card gets damaged. If it does then you will need to have the phone checked at a service center as the microSD card slot of the phone could be faulty.

S7 Apps Can’t Access Data

Problem: Bought a S7 off Amazon and having issues with some apps are getting the data blocked on them and some of them have got just 2g. Have given all the permission I can find . What is there that I am missing?

Solution: There are several factors that can cause this particular issue. The network might be blocking certain apps from accessing the Internet, your phone might be blocking apps from using mobile data, or some security software in the phone is blocking the apps.

Perform the troubleshooting steps listed below to fix the problem.

  • Make sure that the phone has a good mobile data connection. An LTE or 4G signal is highly recommended,
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S7 Notifications Not Working

Problem: G’day, It seems when my phone receives texts and or calls with no reception that information is lost. As in when my phone comes back into reception I don’t get a notification of a missed call and the texts never come through. I have poor reception in my house and I use to receive the above but it has randomly stopped happening. Troubleshooting so far I have restarted the device

Solution: You won’t be getting any missed call notification if your phone does not have any reception. You will however get the text messaging notification as soon as the phone has a signal. If you are not getting any notifications then there’s a possibility that this is caused by a software glitch. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to fix this problem.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
