The #Samsung #Galaxy #S7 is a flagship phone released last year that resembles the S6 yet improves on it further by adding more features that consumers are looking for. For starters, the phone is now waterproof and dustproof making it able to work in less than ideal conditions. It also has a microSD card slot for easy storage upgrading. There’s also the large 3000 mAh battery which allows the device to work for a longer period of time. Although this is a solid performing device there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S7 battery drains even if off issue & other related problems.

S7 Battery Drains Even If Off
Problem: S7 is 14 months old. Battery has been slowly getting worse, but suddenly, it drains completely overnight when completely off. After the first time this happened, I charged it to 100% and shut it down last night–this morning it wouldn’t start. I plugged it in, and it read 0%. Will a new battery fix this problem, or is there something else wrong? Since it’s an S7, I can’t just open it and remove the battery, but it is possible to have it done locally. Thank you.
Solution: It looks like this problem is caused by a faulty battery already that can’t hold its charge anymore. You need to bring the phone to a service center and have the battery checked and possibly replaced.
S7 Internet Connection Lost Error When Playing Game After Nougat Update
Problem: My issue began after nougat update. Many s7 users have this issue. I play a game called vikings war of clans. However since the update, it loads the game to 90% but then a game error message comes across saying internet connection lost. You can try this 100 times and maybe once it will fully load. I have done, factory resets, reloaded game, wiped cache. Nothing fixes problem. However, if I connect to a VPN, the game will work, but is slow with its connectivity. Everything worked great prior to nougat. After nougat, phone went to crap. Can’t play my game. Phone is slow with all aspects, etc…. PLEASE HELP!
Solution: It’s very likely that the game you are playing has not been optimized for the Nougat update yet which is why this issue occurs. You can try to contact the game developer and explain to them what’s happening so that an update to the game can be released.
In case this issue occurs for most of the apps that connect to the Internet and since you have already performed a factory reset then it’s likely that this is caused by the Nougat update version on your phone. You should try to check if a newer update is available for your phone and update the device accordingly.
Problem: my phone freezes in the middle of the night and then my alarm doesn’t go off in the morning. The other night it froze on 1.58 and wouldn’t correct until turned off. also the photos are taking painfully long time to load
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does and this card has some corrupt sectors then the problem could be caused by this card. Try removing the card then check if the issue still occurs.
In case the phone does not have a microSD card or if the issue still occurs even after the card is removed then the next step is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly .The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Stuck At Samsung Logo Screen
Problem: I have been trying to fix this phone that is getting stuck at the Samsung logo Screen. This is actually my mothers phone and it is not clear as to what happened prior to it doing this. I have flashed stock firm, Stock ROM, Recovery ROM and IMG and TAR.MD5 and still is not working. I figured I would easily just wipe the partition but I cannot get to the recovery mode using power + Vol Up +home. It starts but never shows the menu just Recovery Boot in blue in the top left corner. She attempted to get it fixed from what I know and they had her purchase a new aftermarket duracell battery that has to be turned backwards to fit into the phone which makes things a little more difficult as i have to keep taking it out and putting it in certain ways just to get the phone to power on. Knox has been tripped prior to me doing anything in the downloader mode and it all reads currently:
Current Binary: Custom (was saying Samsung Official before I pulled battery out)
System Status: Custom
Reactivation Lock: Off
Knox Warranty Void: 0X1 (1)
Qualcomm Secureboot: Enable (CSB)
RP SWREV: S1, T1, R1, A2, P1
Secure Download: Enable
Solution: Since you have already flashed the phone software and the issue still persists then there’s a possibility that the problem is caused by an internal hardware component that is failing to work properly. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Unauthorized System Software Error
Problem: We have a Samsung Galaxy S7 that we purchased from O & M electronics. We have AT&T in US, and are having a problem with getting the message about unauthorized system software. It has been working fine for about 6 months, so not sure what might have changed. Is there any assistance you can provide? It is an unlocked phone that is supposed to work on all 3 services.
Solution: The first thing that you should do right now is to check if there are any software updates available for your phone then update it accordingly.
In case the software is already updated and the issue persists then perform the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should consider flashing the phone with its updated stock firmware file. You can get the firmware file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.
S7 Wi-Fi Not Turning On
Problem: My issue is that my WiFi is no longer working and when I try turning it on it doesn’t turn on. I even tried my Bluetooth and Hotspot with this and neither worked. Please help me figure out what happened. Before my Hotspot worked but now it doesn’t.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the issue still occurs then the problem is caused by a damaged Wi-Fi/ Bluetooth chip. You need to have this checked at a service center.
S7 Screen Switches On Its On When Connected To Charger
Problem: when the phone is plugged into the charger, I experience issues with the phone switching between screens on its own. Sometimes the settings screen (for whichever app is open at the time) will pop up. But mostly, it is as if I have activated the side key panel, and selected the recent apps key. The phone will continue to switch back and forth continuously. I have tried turning off the side key panel but that does not change the issue.
Solution: Try using a different charging cord and wall charger when charging the phone. You should also try plugging the charger to a different power outlet. Try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then the problem is caused by some static discharge or electrical short inside the phone. The best thing to do in this case is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Cannot Format microSD Card
Problem: hello. my issue is with formatting my SD card when i put it in the phone i get a notification saying unsupported SD card and when i hit that notification to bring up the formatting page, i hit the format button and it shows the percent completed bar it shows 20 % and wont go further and then after about 5 seconds or so i get an error message that says “command 9 volume partition disk:174,64 public failed with ‘ 40012 command failed
Solution: It’s very likely that this problem is caused by a faulty microSD card. Try using a different microSD card on your phone then check if the issue still occurs.
