S7 Battery Drains When Charging

Problem: So my Samsung s7 was at 10% then i go to charge it and its saying its charging but the battery is actually draining now my phone is completely dead and when i plug my charger in it has the lighting bolt saying its charging but wont turn on and none of the buttons are responsive either

Solution: The first thing to do in this particular case is to make sure that the charging port of the phone is free from any dirt or debris. Clean the charging port using a can of compressed air. Once this is done try charging the phone again. In case the issue persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone.
  • Try charging the phone from a computer USB port. If your phone charges this way then one of the pins of the charging port could be damaged in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
  • Try using a wireless charger to charge the phone. If the phone charges then the charging port of the phone might be damaged. You will then need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this might be caused by a faulty battery or charging IC. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Not Charging

Problem: Hi, It had been 2days since my phone was taking too long to charge. I tried many possible measures but it doubt work and today my phone is nt charging at al.. I had 2% so turned off the device and charged but unfortunately I can see no signs of charging.. what should I do plz help

Solution: The same troubleshooting steps as the issue above this one applies for this particular problem. First, you will need to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port gets removed. Next, try charging the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. If the phone does not charge then try charging from a computer USB port. You can also try charging the phone wirelessly if you have a wireless charger.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Not Turning On Not Charging

Problem: My phone went to a blue screen saying downloading and had tiny writing in upper left corner and it is now black screen it came on for being screen went off and black and now I can not turn on and charging light won’t turn on when plugged in My phone is an samsung s7 active

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to simulate a battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Remove the microSD card of the phone ( if the phone has one installed).
  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then one last troubleshooting step that you can do is a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Not Installing System Update Not Charging

Problem: Let system update to my Samsung S7 install overnight. Still hadn’t installed this morning…gets to 31% then reboots, over and over. The charging indicator light does not light up when plugged in and when unplugged it has no charge. I’ve tried both hard and soft resets and it freezes on those screens until I unplug then it goes right back into the reboot loop. I have been trying to troubleshoot this all day with no success. Any suggestions you may have would be helpful.

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed. Once this is done simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down button. The phone should restart after this. If it is still stuck in the reboot loop then perform a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data.

For the charging issue you can troubleshoot this by cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then charge the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Power Button Does Not End Calls

Problem: The power button will not end calls. The option is selected in settings. But it will work in safe mode. Is there a way to resolve the issue without uninstalling (or disabling ones that can’t be uninstalled) all my many apps and the tortuous process of reinstalling them one by one? And then testing the phone each time? Also, it may be an option I’ve recently selected in one of the many apps. Seems like looking for needle in haystack. PS I have tried your ‘wipe cache’ routine.

Solution: If you have already set the power button to end calls and it is not working but works in Safe Mode then there’s a possibility that an app you downloaded is preventing this action. The only way to find out what app is causing the problem is by a trial and error method. You can also opt to perform a factory reset which erases your phone. You will however need to backup your phone data before doing this.

S7 Camera Has Stopped Error

Problem: how do i fix my samsung galaxy s7 camera. when i click the camera app, the screen is all black except the button for taking pictures and recording button, and then the app stop. there’s a pop up saying “camera has stopped, restart app” and then i restart the apps but it does the same. i tried restarting the phone, force stop the camera app and clear data camera storage, and then the full reset which is the factory data reset but still doing the same. what should i do to fix the problem?

Solution: If a factory reset does not fix the problem then this might already be a hardware related problem. Are you using a microSD card in your phone? Try removing this card then check if the issue persists. If it does then the problem is most likely caused by a faulty camera module. You will need to have this checked at a service center.

S7 Wi-Fi Not Turning On

Problem: My Wifi won’t turn on. It just says turning on but won’t turn on. I’ve tried resetting it and even did a hard reset and it still won’t work

Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and the Wi-Fi still does not turn on then this is already a hardware related problem possibly caused by a damaged Wi-Fi chip. The best thing that you can do in this particular case is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
