S6 Will Not Call Unless Airplane Mode Is Cycled

Problem: Drops calls then will not call until cycling flight mode on off Will not communicate on data despite having good network 4 bars and indicating H or H+ Can see icon show outbound packets but nothing coming in Tried cache wiping. Change sim card for new.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem. To do this you have to start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then you should proceed with a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.

S6 Not Updating To Android Nougat

Problem: Ok I just got this new samsung Galaxy s6 which shipped with Android version 6.0…following articles online I learnt that 7.0 has been rolled out. When I hit the software update button, nothing at all happens! Have tried that while connected to WiFi too..nothing happens.

Solution: There are several factors that your phone must first meet in order for it to get the official software update. We have listed these factors below.

  • Your phone must not be rooted.
  • Your phone must not be running on a custom software.
  • If you had the phone unlocked then it should be running on its original carrier in order for it to access the update servers.

If your phone passes the requirements and it is still not getting any update then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Connect your phone to a computer with Smart Switch running then check if the update becomes available.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete check if the update is available.
  • Manually flash the updated firmware file to your phone using Odin. You can get the firmware file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.

S6 Only Turns On When Connected To Charger

Problem: My s6 started to shut off randomly, after my dad switched the charging port out . The only way I could get it turn on was by shaking the phone around and even then when it was turned on it only stayed on for a minute or to . So I decided to check the battery myself and it looked as though the battery was no secure in the phone so I secured it . Now it only turns on when it is connected to a charger , and refuses to turn on when not on the charger.

Solution: It’s very likely that the battery of the phone is faulty. Try having this battery replaced at a service center. If this isn’t causing the problem then it could be caused by a faulty power IC.

S6 Not Completing Update To Android Nougat

Problem: I have 6.1 Marshmallow installed. I’m trying to update to nougat. It will update the software, optimize apps, and restart the phone. However, when the phone turns on, it’s as if it didn’t do any of those things. It still asks me to update the phone and it’s showing I still have 6.1. I’ve done this 3 times, and it still doesn’t work.

Solution: I suggest that you backup your phone data then start the phone in recovery mode. From here wipe the cache partition of your phone then do a factory reset. Once this is done perform the software update again. You should also try updating the phone by connecting it to a computer with the Smart Switch software running.

S6 Bootloop Unless Plugged To Charger

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 AT&T phone that recently went into boot loop on its own. It shows the “Samsung Galaxy S6 Powered by Android” screen then goes blank, briefly vibrates, then shows the screen again, ad infinitum. If I plug it in, it shows the charging screen. It will charge to 100%. If I hit the power button while it is plugged in, it will successfully boot up, but if I unplug it and turn it off and on again, it goes back to the boot loop. Volume up-home-power does not work; it goes into the boot loop except it says “recovery booting….” at the top of the screen during the loop. Volume down-home-power does work. I have used Odin3 v12.5 to reload stock firmware  marshmallow 6.0.1. I successfully recovered from a different boot loop a few months ago using this method. In that instance it would get to the AT&T globe screen and lock. What should I try next?

Solution: If flashing the phone with its stock firmware file fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly. The best thing to do in this case is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Keeps Turning On And Off

Problem: My phone kept turning off on me and when I turned it back on it would continuously restart. I have done a system reboot, I cleared the cache partition, and I even did a factory reset. It is not a battery issue because when I plug it acknowledges the fact that my phone is still at 89% and my previous phone had a battery issue and it did not do what my phone is doing. I am really frustrated because my phone still won’t turn on. Please help me

Solution: If the issue still occurs even after doing a factory reset then this is most likely a hardware related problem already most likely caused by a faulty power IC or battery. The best thing that you should do is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Wi-Fi Authentication Error After Software Update

Problem: Hi. I updated my galaxy s6 yesterday and now it’s having wifi issues. Authentication errors keep showing up and my wifi disconnects within a minute consistently. I’ve forgotten the network and re-entered the password, forgotten all networks, power cycled my router, and even factory reset my phone. None of these wifi issues occurred before the update to 7.0 My phone tells me that my current version I’d G920W8VLSDQK1/G920W8OYA5DQK1/G920W8VLS5DQK1. I’m using my old S4 right now on version 5.0.1 and the wifi is working fine. My girlfriends iPhone is also working just fine, and my PC and Xbox are all using wifi totally fine.

Solution: To fix this problem you should backup your phone data then start the phone in recovery mode. From here you should wipe the cache partition of the phone then follow this up with a factory reset. In case the issue still persists then you need to check if another update is available then install this in your phone.
