S6 Touchscreen Not Working

Problem: I bought an s6 off a guy… it worked okay.. put It on charger and I woke up the next day and the touchscreen doesn’t work at all. I tried the up button power button all and home reset. Didn’t make it work. I didn’t drop it or any nonsense. I tried hooking it up into computer but it can’t get all day thing because I can’t click allow. Ugh. I didn’t even have it all day thing day!

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then from here perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. In case the issue still persists after the reset then the problem could be caused by a faulty touch IC or digitizer. If this is the case then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Grey Lines On Screen

Problem: I have had my samsung s6 for a couple of years and all of a sudden i am have thick dull grey bands running horizontally across my screen constantly. Occasionally my screen will flick to a black and white dotted screen (like a frozen white noise screen) and then change back after a couple of seconds. I also occasionally gets like a blue/green transparent overlay to the screen which also only lasts for a few seconds. This has been occurring for the last three days. I have started the phone in safe mode and it didn’t help.

Solution: If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then there’s a possibility that the problem is already caused by some faulty hardware component. One last troubleshooting step that you can do is to perform a factory  reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete immediately check if the issue still occurs. If it does then the best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Authentication Error When Connected To Wi-Fi

Problem: I have an S6 and had an update about a month ago and now my phone will connect to WiFi but then will disconnect and give an authentication error message.  So my phone will not stay connected to any WiFi at all.  I have tried everything that Verizon has told be to do but still not able to keep phone connected.  I am using up my data in the meantime due to this issue.

Solution: Does this issue occur for every Wi-Fi network that you connect to? If it doesn’t then the problem might be caused by the particular router that you are trying to connect to. In case the issue occurs for every Wi-Fi network then you should proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Try forgetting the Wi-Fi network from your phone then connect to it again.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 No Text Message Notification Sound

Problem: My phone doesn’t send a sound notification when i get a text message. I have it set so messages can appear on my lock screen and they don’t show up either. I only get a red notification on the app icon. My phone isn’t set to do not disturb, so I don’t know what else could be wrong with it.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to check the notification settings of the text messaging app.

  • Open the Messages app
  • Tap the Menu icon. This is the three dots on the upper right side.
  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Notifications and make sure that it is on.
  • Tap Notification sound then select an option.

If the notification sound is correct and the issue still persist then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Difficult To Charge

Problem: Hello, I’ve got a S6 SM-G920F model and since last month it has a charging issue: sometimes it just doesn’t want to charge when I plug in the charging cable, I’ve tried with different chargers and cables, even trying to connect it to the laptop but it couldn’t see the phone nor charge. I’ve managed to make it charge by restarting several times and turning it off and on after few minutes. However, sometimes starts charging right when I plug it in but that’s rare, like 10% of the case. The connector is not loose as I tried to slowly move it around to see if that’s the problem but still no solution. I would want to know if that’s maybe a software issue and if a downgrade would be necessary and the solution to this problem or something else. I’m looking forward seeing your suggestions. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that it is free from any dirt or debris. Once this is done try charging the phone again. If the issue persists then perform the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • Try charging the phone from a computer USB port.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Randomly Pressing

Problem:  My phone updated at 11:35 pm on 11/29. On 11/30, my phone’s bottom, left hand, CLOSE ALL button started randomly self-pressing. By yesterday evening, it was non-stop and is still non-stop. I CANNOT use my phone – Verizon sent me to Samsung, Samsung told me to put it in safe mode, which it is still in and then didn’t get back to me – AAAGGGHHH!  Thanks for your assistance! I have no idea the Android version, but it is completely updated (and unusable).

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. In case the issue still persists then this is most likely a hardware related problem already in which case you will need to have this checked at a service center.

S6 Randomly Reboots After Freezing

Problem: My galaxy s6 died a few months ago (spontaneously stopped working) but today I noticed it powered up bit it randomly reboots after freezing. I’ve reflashed the firmware from 6.0.1 to 5.1.1 and this still occurs. I’m not sure if it’s a software issue but I feel like it’s a hardware fault. I have opened up the phone at this point

Solution: Since you have already flashed the phone with another firmware file and the issue still occurs then this is most likely a hardware related problem already possibly caused by faulty hardware component. You will need to have this checked at a service center.

S6 Refuses To Fast Charge

Problem: My phone refuses to fast charge. I have tried rebooting, clearing cache via boot menu, switching cables, chargers, mixing cables and chargers. Fast charge is enabled and I haven’t messed with super user functions. It’ll charge fine over night and hold its charge pretty good but probably not as good as when I got it of course.

Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port. In case the issue persists try using a different charging cord and different adaptive fast charging charger to charge the phone. In case the problem persists then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the phone will now fast charge.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
