Samsung Galaxy S6 Takes Too Long To Fully Charge Issue & Other Related Problems

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S6 is the first flagship model of Samsung that ditched the usual plastic construction design to a more premium metal and glass design. This results in a more sleek and polished phone that is not only great to look at but feels good in the hand as well. There are however some trade offs to this new design such as the absence of a microSD card slot, the use of a non-removable battery, and no waterproofing and dustproofing. Although a lot of people are using this phone as their reliable daily driver there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S6 takes too long to fully charge issue & other related problems.

S6 Takes Too Long To Fully Charge

Problem: My husband’s phone is Samsung galaxy s6.the problem Before is it takes very long time to fully charge the phone from the night until morning and sometimes the phone is so hot its like you can cook an egg on it. And now his phone is no longer working, what would be the possible cause and solution. Thank you.

Solution: A phone that takes too long to charge, gets hot when charging, and now does not work is a sure sign that this is already a hardware related problem possibly caused by a faulty battery. There are however some troubleshooting steps that you need to perform which we have listed below to eliminate the other possible factors that can be causing the problem.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in it gets removed. Use a can of compressed air to clean this port.
  • Perform a simulated battery pull by pressing and holding the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds.
  • Charge the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.

In case the phone still gets hot, takes too long to charge, or does not turn on then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Receiving Text Message From An iPhone

Problem: I have a galaxy s6 and I gave my friend (who has an iPhone) my number and they saved my name as a new contact, but I never received their text. Then I texted them and they received my text but it popped up as my phone number and not the contact she saved it under. She then texted me again and I still didn’t receive it. I’ve tried everything but I have no idea what’s wrong. Please help

Solution: Has your number been previously connected to the iMessage service of the iPhone? I it has then you will need to deregister your number from this service.

If you still have the iPhone available

  • Transfer your current (active) SIM card to your iPhone.
  • Make sure you’re connected to the cellular data network.
  • Open the Settings app on the iPhone and tap on Messages.
  • Tap the iMessage toggle to the Off position.

If you don’t have the iPhone available

  • Go to Apple’s new Deregister iMessage page.
  • Scroll down to where it says ‘No longer have your iPhone?’
  • Enter the phone number you want to deregister.
  • Enter the confirmation code Apple sends you.

You should also have your friend check the setting of the iPhone and make sure that under Messages the “Send as SMS” option is active.

S6 Screen not Working After Getting Wet

Problem: Dropped into the water and it was there for almost few hours.. without knowing it i put for charging… now my mobile is working only music folder when i put on headphones and i operate play music through it… and mobile back and option screen lights gets on when i touch it.. when i checked with samsung technician he says my motherboard dead… but he don’t give me other options.. please help me to get my data from my device.. it’s almost 60gb my babiez video and pics..

Solution: Try connecting your phone to a computer with Smart Switch installed then check if it is detected. If it is then the problem might not be caused by a faulty motherboard. Check if you can backup your phone data. If you are unable to then I suggest you have your phone checked at a different service center.

S6 Fast Charging Stopped Working

Problem: My fast-charging stopped working on my Galaxy S6 and I did buy a new Samsung fast charger and cable and still not working

Solution: For this particular problem the first thing that you need to do is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in the port. Next, make sure that the fast charging setting is enabled in your phone.

  • Plug your new charger to the phone
  • Navigate To Settings.
  • Go to battery setting in the Settings.
  • After Opening Battery option You will see Rapid Charging Option just check the box

If the issue remains then one last troubleshooting step that you should do is a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

S6 Accidentally Installed App From Pop Up Window

Problem: A few weeks ago I tried to close a pop up on a random site which was suggesting to install a flash player update, but instead of closing it I accidentally downloaded it. I didn’t trust the page so I obviously didn’t agree to any installation of it, but ever since then my galaxy S6  randomly opens flash player windows, usually when I start an app (like my banking app HELP). I tried to find out what I can do, but I don’t know what’s causing this. The windows that open just have a grey loading screen and if I don’t have an Internet connection a window saying something like ‘connection failed’. To get out of that I need to touch the button left to my home button to formally close the windowsill and it shows me there it’s a flashplayer window. Besides that I noticed later that my wifi keeps turning on a few minutes after I turn it off, but I don’t know if that was happening before or after that flash player situation. I looked up some solutions, I checked the rights of the apps that I have and none of them has the right to enable my wifi (as far as I know), it also keeps turning on when I close all of my apps

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to uninstall the app that is causing this problem. Go to the application manager of the phone and if you still remember the name of the app then search for it then uninstall it from here.

In case you have a hard time finding the app then the best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Does Not Ring

Problem: Hi, i’m having some troubles with my samsung S6. The volume works perfectly with everything but when someone calls, my phone doesnt ring. The screen does turn on and it does say that whoever it may be is calling you, but the rind does not go off, nor does it vibrate. Ive checked the phone settings and also the call settings.  I’ve turned on vibrate and the ringtone, but nothing seems to work. You advice on this issue will be extremely appreciated. Thank You.

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to check that the ringer volume is not set to zero and that the silent mode is not activated. In case the issue persists then proceed with starting the phone in Safe Mode. Does the problem occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
