S6 Keeps On Rebooting Unless Plugged To Charger

Problem: Hello! I have a Samsung s6 active. It is a year old. I haven’t dropped it. No physical damage done to my phone. 2 weeks ago my phone started to freeze when receiving calls. Then it would randomly restart. Each time the battery would get lower and lower. Now my phone won’t stay on unless plugged in. We are with cricket and it is an att phone. We just went to Bestbuy and got the phone updated to see if that would fix it. It is still having the same problem. Won’t stop rebooting unless plugged in . I’ve tried factory reset and clearing my cached. The update I just updated to 7.0.

Solution: It’s very likely that this problem is already caused by a faulty hardware component which could be the battery or the power IC. You should try having the battery replaced at a service center. If the issue persists then have the power IC of the phone checked.

S6 Crashes Randomly

Problem: My phone has crashed twice now in 2 weeks. It’s fully charged and suddenly the screen goes black and red option to reboot that erases settings after recharging it resumes.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not working After Software Update

Problem: Hello I am currently owning a galaxy edge S6 it is no more working after a software update. I try to follow the tutorial but none of the solution worked. When I plugged it I can see the light. The phone is repeatedly displaying the splash screen with the samsung logo and then turn off immediately. Sometimes when i press power + volume down  , I have a blue screen with the word “installing update” written, then I have another blue screen with “no command” and an android logo. My phone does not seems to react to any combination of keys. I really don’t know what to do (I would like to fix it myself because the phone is out of warranty). Do you know how it can be fixed ? Best Regards. PS: I have no idea about the android version

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then from here wipe the cache partition of the phone then perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

In case the issue persists then you will need to flash your phone with its updated firmware file using Odin. You can get the firmware file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.

S6 Not Turning On After Getting Wet

Problem: I accidently dropped my S6 in the hot tub, and took it in few seconds. it didn’t turn on. I dried it in rice for few days, and now when I plug it to computer, it shows the battery percentage – Initially charging symbol, and reached 100%, but when I tried to start the phone by the power button, it goes to ‘battery charging sign’ again after showing ‘Samsung Galaxy screen’ for a brief moment. It doesn’t even goes to the screen when the Samsung Loading image opens. Any idea on how to fix this ? Your help will be much appreciated

Solution: Since you have already tried placing the phone in a bag of rice and it still does not turn on then the device is most likely water damaged. You will need to bring the phone to a service center so that the components that are damaged can be checked and replaced.

S6 Unblocked Numbers Still Going To Spam Folder

Problem: I’m having an issue where if I block a number from either calling me or sending me text messages and then I go back and I unblock them in both the messaging and the phone call section the next time they try to send me text messages I’ll receive some normally but some of them will still go to the spam folder so I’m just wondering why this happens I’ll go back and double-check and make sure they’re unblocked in my phone call list and my text message list but they still have random texts sent to spam folder and then I’ll receive some texts normally

Solution: This issue might just be caused by a software glitch. What you will want to do right now is to make sure that the numbers are not included in the blocked list. Once you have verified this start your phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of your device. Restart your phone then check if the issue still occurs. In case the issue persists then you will have to consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

S6 No Sound Notification When Receiving Text Messages

Problem: The sound notification when receiving texts has stopped. Checked all settings for general phone and within text app and still nothing. But I received a text while on the phone and I heard the sound notification but still nothing external. Help please…

Solution: What you will want to do in this case is to first check the notification sound setting of the messages app and make sure that it is properly set.

  • Go to the Messages app
  • Tap the Menu icon
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap the Notifications switch making sure that it is on
  • Tap Notification sound then select an option (e.g., Silent, Beep Once, etc.).

You should also make sure that the media and notification sound volume of the phone is set to its maximum level.

In case the issue persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it is most likely caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Only Turns On When Plugged To Charger

Problem: My sister has a galaxy s6 and for some reason it stopped working a couple months ago. It only turns on when the phone is plugged in and as soon as you plug it in it comes up with the battery to show what percent it’s at and every time it says it’s at 100% but as soon as the charger is unplugged it shuts off. And when the phone isn’t plugged in it doesn’t even try to turn on

Solution: It’s very likely that the problem is caused by a faulty battery. You should however try to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If the issue persists after the reset then you should bring your phone to a service center and have the battery checked and possibly replaced.
