S6 Edge Will Not Charge After Battery Drained

Problem: Hi there, writing about my sons phone. We were in the car watching a video on it when his battery suddenly went from 65% to 0% and shut off. We plugged it into the charger, it showed the battery image on the screen with the lightning bolt (like it does when it is off but charging except there was no green indicating that it was taking charge and it still said 0%) we left it charging and checked it periodically with no change. After about an hour we arrived where we were headed so I unplugged it and brought it inside with me to try a different wall charger. That time it didn’t show anything on the screen and no lights and has not since. I have even tried a wireless charger.  It will not charge and it will not turn on or show any signs of life. I had a different S6 edge last year and it did the same thing to me, except it was doing a software update when it happened. It would not turn on and would not charge. I am not sure if his phone was updating in the car. He said it did prompt him for an update though, so it may have been. Last time, with mine I was ultimately able to get it to come back to life using a wireless charger. But I have had no such luck with his. I have tried holding down power+home+volume up buttons and power+volume down buttons but there’s nothing. Please help. Such an expensive phone.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to clean the  charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed. Once this is done proceed with a simulated battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If you get no response from the phone then try charging it for at least 20 minutes. In case the phone does not charge then try the following:

  • Use a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • Try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
  • Try using a wireless charger.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Reboots After Screen Replacement

Problem: A few months ago my wife smashed her screen. I just now got to replacing the screen but it boots and then reboots a minute later. There hasn’t been any extras added onto the phone but want the photos off of it.

Solution: Try starting the phone in Safe Mode then check if the phone still reboots in this mode. It’s also best if you do this while the phone is connected to its charger. In case the phone does not reboot in this mode then you can backup your photos. Once the photos have been backed up perform a factory reset.

In case the phone still reboots even in Safe Mode then the problem could be hardware related possibly caused by the screen replacement. I recommend that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Randomly Restarting

Problem: My galaxy s6 edge is restarting by himself. I have tried to wipe cache but it did not worked Also master reset has not solve my problem, but while I have optimized it after the hard reset it ain’t restart only when I started use the phone. I have tried to turn on my phone in safe mode and it keep in restarting. The restarting are randomly happening it can restart 5 seconds after it turning on and it can happen after 30 seconds of use. Hope you will help me fix it. Thank you!

Solution: Since you have already performed a factory reset which does not fix the problem then it’s possible that this is already caused by a faulty internal component. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Screen Has Green And Red Stripes After Drop

Problem: I dropped my s6 edge and have a screen with green and red stripes across the middle of the device. The screen also doesn’t shine bright anymore like a super amoled screen…. Also, the screen may refuse to turn on when woken but will do so after several tries. I intend getting a new screen but I need an expert advice

Solution: It already looks like the screen has been damaged by the drop. The best troubleshooting step that you can do right now is to do a factory reset from the recovery mode. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If the issue still remains even after the reset then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked. It’s very likely that you will need to have the display assembly replaced.

S6 Edge Turns Off When SIM Card IS Inserted

Problem: Hello There. My S6 edge (SM-G925F) switches off when I insert a Sim Card. It works fine without a Sim Card but as soon as I insert a Sim Card it Shuts down Immediately. This happened to me when I upgraded my phone from Android 5.1.1 to 7.0. How can I fix this? I have tried changing the Sim IC, & have formatted many times but the problem persists.

Solution: Try inserting a different SIM card in the phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should try to perform a factory reset to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

In case the issue still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then it’s very likely that a short circuit occurs whenever the SIM card is inserted which then causes the phone to turn off. The most likely culprit here is the SIM reader. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
