When the #Samsung #Galaxy #S6Edge was released in 2015 it was one of the first devices that used a curved edge display. The phone has a 5.1 inch Super AMOLED display that curves around both edges which not only provides a good grip but also the edge is actually used by some apps as their notification strips. Although this is a solid performing device there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S6 Edge unauthorized actions have been detected issue & other related problems.

Problem: Hello, I have a problem with my phone it keeps notifying me that i have an “unauthorised actions have been detected” which is really annoying. I live in the uk and cannot get the KNOX app. Is there a way i can fix this problem so that i can stop? I keep getting told that i have to restart my phone which i have done many times yet it keeps showing up i do not know what to do now could you please help me?
Solution: The first thing that you can do in this particular case is to make sure that your phone is running on the latest software version. Try to manually check for an update and if one is available you should install it in your phone.
In case your phone is already running on the latest software version and the issue still persists then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should consider flashing the phone with its updated firmware file. You can download this file from the Sammobile website. This is also where you can find the instructions on how to flash your phone.
S6 Edge Heats Up Not Turning On
Problem: Hi, I bought this Samsung galaxy s6 edge a couple years back. It seemed to work fine until a couple of weeks before when it suddenly freezed and heat up like hell and restarts with all the leds on. After the restart it seemed to work fine until a day or less later it does this again. Sometimes it freezed after heating up like hell so i perform soft reboot and then it seemed to work fine.Today it did that again and after soft resetting it heats up and turned off and since then it’s been a cold brick, doesn’t charge up, doesn’t do anything, no response upon plugging it into a charger or pressing buttons, it’s just dead. Help
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge to turn on the phone. To do this you need to follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clean the charger port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
- Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes.
- If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
- Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this might already be caused by an internal component that is failing to work. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Stuck In AT&T Logo
Problem: Hi. My s6 edge stucks at at&t logo so i did the master reset and the phone went on until a place where it says “starting applications” it stucks there. Please help
Solution: Try wiping the cache partition of the phone first then do a factory reset again. In case the issue still persists then this might already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Not Turning On After Drop In Bathtub
Problem: I dropped my galaxy 6S edge in the bathtub this morning and now it won’t turn on when it tries to turn on it says something about downloading… What do I do? It was barely in the tub and I’ve seen a video of the same exact phone rings submerged in the water for 20 minutes and it still works help
Solution: If your phone got wet then the first thing that you should do is to wipe it with a soft cloth until it is dry. Once this is done place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture present inside the phone. After the 48 hours have passed try turning on the phone. If it does not turn on then it might be water damaged already. You will need to have this checked at a service center.
S6 Edge Keeps On Restarting
Problem: Hi! My samsung galaxy s6 edge won’t stop restarting. I follow every steps to stop it from restarting but it won’t work. I can only use it when it’s charging and if I unplugged it it will start restarting again. What should I do? I really need my phone. Pls. Help me
Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to check if a software glitch is causing the problem by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely a hardware related issue already possibly caused by a faulty battery. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Screen Is Black After Phone Dropped
Problem: I dropped my Samsung galaxy S6 Edge 15 feet, I was at a Ducks game. Case was on, screen did not crack, but now I have just a black screen. Light still flashes blue, I can hear my phone when I’m getting calls and text messages. I’ve tried holding the power button and lower volume on/off charge, then power button and higher volume on/off charge. Please help. Thank you!
Solution: What you will want to do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode. Does the screen work in this mode? If it does then the problem might be caused by a software glitch in which case you need to perform a factory reset in this mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If the screen is still black even in recovery mode then it most likely got damaged during the drop. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
