S6 Edge Refuses To Charge
Problem: Complex problem: Device refuses to charge. When charger connected when turned off, shows only battery with lightning, no percentage. Then after trying with different key combinations for a couple of hours, charging turns on again. But… NO data transferring, NOT recognised by pc. Thought ok, data wirelessly. After a couple of months the same thing. Something to notice: when charging not working, data transfer does!!! After trying different key combinations for a couple of hours, works again, only charging! Thought next time it happens to change the usb port. Happened again, changed usb port but same problem!!! Then after key combination, charging works again. So no hardware problem!!! Did before that factory reset, did nothing!!!! Any thoughts?
Solution: Since you already eliminated the phone software and the charging port as possible factors in causing this problem then this could already be caused by a malfunctioning internal component possibly the charging IC or power IC. For this particular issue I recommend that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Will Not Power On After Coffee Spill
Problem: I had my s6 edge galaxy in my cup holder in my car and I spilled coffee in the holder so the bottom half was submerged all of 30 seconds a minute at most so instead of me keeping upright I just put it on the back until I got home. (charging port, speaker port, and headphone port) Further more the phone cut off and I naturally thought it needs to be charged so when I did it went into secure mode, once I got of that I just cut the phone off and now it will not power on. what you do without having to get another phone. HELP!!
Solution: Since your phone was submerged in coffee then it’s possible liquid has entered the phone. You will need to place your phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once the 48 hours are over ty to check if the phone will turn on. If needed, charge the phone for at least 20 minutes before turning it on. If the phone does not respond then i suggest that you bring this to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Only Stays On If Charger Is Plugged
Problem: I have just received a brand new Samsung S6 Edge, I set it up as usual and backed up my photos etc. My problem is it only stays turned on when the charger is plugged in although it has 100% battery! I’ve done the reset by pressing power, home and volume down key but now I’m left with a blue screen saying “downloading, do not turn off target” please help!!!!
Solution: For the issue regarding the phone only staying on when it is connected to its charger this could be caused by a weak battery or a faulty power IC. You will need to have this checked at a service center. Regarding the downloading error just restart your phone and this will disappear as you have accessed the download mode of your phone.
S6 Edge Not Charging Using USB Cable
Problem: Hello Sir, I am receiving this issue from last 2 days. I don’t know what is the specific reason. My phone is not charging by usb cable but sometimes it detects usb cable but charges too slow. I have used different chargers and cables and also connect with laptop but no use. Now I am charging it on wireless charger and it’s perfectly charging. I have done factory reset, Hard reset, full wipe and delete partition but nothing happened. Still issue remains there. I am pretty sure that my phone charging port is working fine. There is some internal issue with software or hardware.
Solution: Since you have already performed most of the troubleshooting steps that needs to be done for this particular issue then it’s safe to say that this problem is either caused by a faulty charging port or a malfunctioning charging IC. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Not Turning On After Drop In Water
Problem: I dropped my phone in water and managed to pull it straight back out. I have dried it with the hairdryer and put it in a bag with rice. It will now not switch back on. How long after submersion will I be able to tell from the sim tray that it is damaged? An is there anything else I can do?
Solution: Once the water has come in contact with the liquid damage indicator sticker it will immediately change color. If you phone is not turning on after you have placed it in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours even after you have charged it then it’s possible that some internal component has been water damaged. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
S6 Edge Keeps Flashing The Samsung Logo
Problem: My samsung S6 edge just keeps flashing the Samsung logo.. cannot switch on or off the blue light on top left hand corner is on and both function keys at the bottom are the up. Have tried your above advice and nothing is working. Phone hasn’t been dropped or near water, just happened out of the blue
Solution: Try simulating a battery pull by pressing and holding the power and volume down key for at least 10 seconds. Normally your phone should restart after this. If the issue remains then check if you can start the phone in recovery mode. From here I would recommend that you do a factory reset. Take note that this reset will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem and since you mentioned that you have already performed most of our troubleshooting suggestions for this particular problem then I suggest you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Not Charging
Problem: My Samsung S6 edge run out of battery 2 nights ago so I put it on charge and woke up in the morning to find it hadn’t charged at all. I unplugged it and put the charger back in again and nothing at all is coming up to say it’s charging it’s just a blank screen. I have tried charging with other chargers but nothing is happening. It was working fine before this.
Solution: Sometimes dirt stuck in the charging port of your phone can prevent the device from charging properly. Try cleaning this port first using a can of compressed air. When charging the phone try using different charging cords and wall chargers. If the phone is still unresponsive then the battery might be defective already. Bring your phone to a service center and have this checked.
