S6 Edge Not Updating To Nougat
Problem: My Galaxy S6 Edge is not updating to nougat it gives error that “phone is modified in an unauthorized way and update using smart switch” my phone is not rooted then why i get this option?
Solution: You will usually get this particular error if the phone has been rooter, is running on a custom software, or if the Knox counter has been tripped. There’s also a possibility that the error message is caused by a software glitch.
What you will want to do first in this case is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if you are now able to update your phone software. If the problem still persists then connect your phone to a computer with the latest version of Smart Switch running then use this software to update your phone.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to consider manually flashing the updated stock firmware file to your phone. You can get this file from the Sammobile website. The instructions on how to flash your phone are also available in that website.
S6 Edge Only Works When Connected To Charger
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is only working when it’s on the charger. I can safely assume it isn’t necessarily a battery problem because this only started happening after my phone fell out of my pocket. Is there anyway to fix this quickly and on my own?
Solution: Try performing a simulated battery pull which is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Make sure that your phone is not connected to the charger when you do this. Your phone should restart after this. If the issue still persists then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this is most likely a hardware related problem already possibly caused by a faulty battery.
S6 Edge Not Turning On Unless Plugged To Charger
Problem: Phone will turn off by himself at any time and will not turn on unless it is plug in. It has a charge battery. We bought a new battery and it does the samething I put both batteries in an identical working phone and now that phone does the samething. Is the phone damaging the batteries? Please advice
Solution: It looks like a short circuit in the phone is damaging the batteries. The best way to address this problem is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Stuck In Recovery Mode Screen
Problem: My S6 Edge is stuck on the recovery mode screen. I cannot turn it off or do anything but let the battery die out. When I charge it, it goes right back to the recovery mode screen.
Solution: If your phone is stuck in recovery mode even if you try restarting the device then you should consider performing a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
In case the issue persists then it’s very likely that this is a hardware related issue already possibly caused by a button being stuck. The best thing that you need to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Can’t Update Phone Software
Problem: Hi, I can’t upgrade my phone because it was unlocked. I was advised by samsung to use the usb and update from a PC. The problem now is My usb port on my phone is destroyed. I charge my phone wirelessly. Is there any way to go about the installation of the software
Solution: You really need to have the charging port of the phone fixed before you will be able to manually install the phone software as this port is required when flashing using Odin or updating using Smart Switch.
S6 Edge Stuck In Boot Logo
Problem: My phone is stuck on the Samsung s6 edge screen and will not go past that. The device was working fine but after a few minutes it shut itself down and it is now stuck in this state. When on the Samsung s6 edge screen instead of a black background the screen is covered in horizontal blue lines. Please Help.
Solution: What you will want to do in this case is to start the phone in recovery mode then from here perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. In case this fails to fix the problem then this is most likely a hardware related problem already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Still Stuck In Android Lollipop
Problem: I am using Samsung Galaxy s6 edge AT&T verizon mobile (this is not unlocked mobile, directly purchased for international usage). Android version on my mobile is still 5.0.1 & when i check for software updates it does not show any update and says you’re on the latest version. I know that there is latest version of android than 5.0.1. Can you please help\suggest on why my mobile does not show the latest version of android & how can i upgrade my mobile to latest? Thanks in advance.
Solution: You should try using Smart Switch to update your phone.
- Download the latest version of Smart Switch then install it in your computer.
- Once the installation is completed, Smart Switch will automatically detect your device and download all the USB drivers automatically.
- Connect your phone to the computer using a USB cord.
- Smart Switch should automatically recognize your device type and download all corresponding drivers
- Backup of your existing firmware, data, and apps. To do that, just click the “Backup” button near the bottom of the screen, then wait around 10 minutes for the process to complete.
- If there is an available firmware update for your device, Smart Switch will inform you of this with a message near the top of the screen. Just click the “Update” button directly to the right of this message to begin the update process
In case the phone still does not get any updates then you should consider manually flashing the updated stock firmware file of the phone using Odin. You can get the updated firmware from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.

Your phone should restart after this. In case it doesn’t then you should try to start the phone in recovery mode. If the phone starts in this mode then you should consider doing a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
