S6 Edge Not Turning On After Contact With Water
Problem: Two days ago my phone contacted with some water as it was in my bag with an opened water bottle. I suppose that some water has entered to the device as there were few water drops in tiny holes near charging port. I tried to turn it on several times but it didn’t work. Then I tried to charge it and it showed 100% charge and suddenly turned off when I removed the charger. It happened few times. Technician said that she can’t check battery as there is a damage on the screen glass due to previous fall. If they try to remove the battery it may cause a serious damage on screen glass. What should I do now?
Solution: Since this is clearly a hardware related problem already then there are two things that needs to be addressed on the device. The battery and the display. If you have important data stored in the phone and you want to retrieve this data then you should consider having the display replaced and the battery checked as well. Make sure to bring the phone to a service center that has experience in fixing this type of problem so that they can also check other components of the phone that might have suffered some water damage.
S6 Edge Randomly Disconnects From The Internet
Problem: Hello, i have a problem with my galaxy S6. I got a sim card recently for it and it seems to randomly disconnect from the internet. I would be watching youtube for 30 minutes, then out of nowhere it’ll start saying i have no connection at all, even through wifi, and keep me from watching videos for 30 seconds to a minute. I was wondering if this problem may be from the sim card, and how i can go about fixing it. Thanks!
Solution: It’s unlikely that the problem is caused by the SIM card since you mentioned that even when the phone is connected to Wi-Fi the problem still occurs. This is most likely caused by a software glitch in which case you should proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any app in your phone. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem some other factors that you can check are as follow.
- Try connecting your phone to a different Wi-Fi network. If the issue does not occur then the problem could be caused by your router.
- Try checking if the issue occurs when connecting to your mobile data network in a different area. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by the tower in your area.
- Try using a different SIM card.
S6 Edge Stuck In Verizon Screen After Security Update
Problem: I completed a security update that kept coming up on phone to do now my phone is stuck on the Samsung Galaxy screen and Verizon screen just keeps restarting and staying on these screen won’t power of I tried your 7 steps all the way through home factory reset asks still doing same thing can’t power off at all.
Solution: Have you tried wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode before proceeding with the factory reset? If the phone still gets stuck in the Verizon screen after this then you should consider flashing the phone with its updated firmware file. You can get this file from the Sammobile website. Instructions on how to flash your phone can also be found in this website.
Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then this could already be a hardware related issue in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Stopped Charging
Problem: Hi, My Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has stopped charging. This has happened once before so I took it to the shop I bought it (Carphone Warehouse) and they gave me an adaptive fast charger, which solved the problem. However, this has now happened again, so I asked the Carphone Warehouse again and they gave me another USB lead to charge it. Unfortunately this time it did not charge up and I am left with a phone at 0% charge, unable to do anything myself. I fear it may be a problem that I created by not updating the phone’s software in time, but now I cannot do this as the phone has to be at at least 20% charge to update itself. Can you help?
Solution: What you will want to do first in this particular case is to clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port. Once this is done try charging your phone. If the phone does not charge then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
- Try charging the phone from a computer USB port. If the phone charges this way then one of the pins of the charging port might be damaged. You need to have this checked at a service center.
- Try to use a wireless charger to charge the phone. If the phone charges this way then the problem could be caused by a faulty charging port. You will need to have this checked at a service center.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then your phone might have a faulty battery or faulty power IC. If this is the case then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Apps Keep Crashing Not Updating To Nougat
Problem: I have T-mobile s6 edge USA which was rooted when I bought it. It was sim unlocked since I bought it. I don’t know whether it was unlocked by code or rooting. I am facing problems like crashing of apps. Some apps are not even updating eg FB. Please advice can I update my mobile to nougat? Will my mobile will remain sim unlocked? Whether should I update or not. I am from India. I just need it sim unlocked. Not rooted is fine for me. Pls help in this matter. Thank you.
Solution: Your phone will not lose its unlocked status if you update the phone software. Since you are experiencing issues with apps crashing and can’t update some apps then the best way to proceed in this case is to update your phone software by flashing the updated firmware file. You can get the firmware file of your phone from the Sammobile website which is also where you can find the instructions on how to flash your phone. Make sure to backup your phone data before proceeding.
S6 Edge Crashes Unless Plugged To Charger
Problem: Hi. I have an s6 edge and quite recently the phone crashed. After that the phone keeps shutting down by itself. it works fine when i have a charger plugged in. when it shuts down the battery level falls dramatically moreover this has been happening more frequently.
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to check if this is caused by a software glitch. To do this just backup your phone data then do a factory reset. In case the issue still occurs even after the reset then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this might already be caused by a faulty battery.
S6 Edge Wrong IMEI
Problem: Hi, I need help about this Samsung S6 edge i bought from a friend. My friend said this device came from Hong Kong. I have plenty of issue with this. When I check its IMEI( 990005790807961), the result shock me because the site gives a Note 4 device instead of s6 edge. It also has some pink tint issue (though search it from google found out that this is a known issue for some s6 edge unit). Is it true about this pink tint issues? Lastly, the software update doesn’t seem to work. When pressing it, nothing happens. Please do help me, Im really confuse now.
Solution: It looks like the phone software has been modified in a way that it is now using a different IMEI. The best way to proceed in this case is to flash the phone with its updated firmware file. You can get the ifile from the Sammobile website. Once this is done and your phone still has a pink tint then this is already caused by a faulty display. As for the IMEI of the phone this might have been tampered with previously. You can’t change this right now since it is prohibited by law.
