S6 Edge Not Charging Heats Up Fast

Problem: I’m not sure which version my phone is on. But, recently it hasn’t been charging, it heats up too fast, and when I plug it in, it’ll charge for a couple of minutes then stop charging, or the percentage will go down while it’s charging, airplane mode and charging wouldn’t work either, but every time I move my charger a certain way it will charge, I think it may be a shortage in the cord, I’m not sure. And my phone seems to charge well when it’s turned off and charging.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to make sure that the charging port is free from any signs of dirt or debris. It’s best to clean the port using a can of compressed air. Once this is done try charging the phone. If the issue persists then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be a hardware related problem possibly caused by a faulty charging port. You will need to have this checked at a service center if this is the case.

S6 Edge Not Turning On Unless Connected To Charger After Getting Wet

Problem: Hi, I dropped my phone down the toilet 2 weeks ago. Only in water 10 secs. I put in rice for a week. The phone was charging but not turning on. I just put it on charge and its turning on and working fine but only if its on charge. Without charger its not turning on. Please help.

Solution: It appears that a component in your phone has been damaged by the water, possibly the power IC. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Stops Charging Not Turning On

Problem: Hey I am having problems with my s6 edge. It stopped charging and it won’t turn on anymore.  Situation looks as following. Yesterday I came back quite late and phone was already flat. I plugged it to the charger, everything seemed to be okay and I left it to charge for about 4 am. After phone indicated it was fully charged. I plugged it out and tried to turn it on. With no success. I tried to plug it back and charge it. But nothing happened. Also I can’t  turn it back on. Phone is not recognized when I plug it to the USB.

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to simulate a battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then proceed with the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. If it doesn’t charge then you should try charging from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Keeps Turning Off On Its Own

Problem: hello friday last week my s6 edge kept turning off on its own and i was having to turn it back on. later that day i was using it and was going dead so i put it on charge and it went off and hasn’t come back on since.. there is no charging screen on when its on charge and no notification light either. had a new battery in it today thinking it was a faulting battery and it’s still the same problem will not turn back on.. i’ve tried all the buttons to press and hold to reboot and all that. nothing is working no life in it all. charged it for hours and nothing can you help please

Solution: You should try pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. If your phone does not restart then the problem is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. On last troubleshooting step that you should do is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Lagging Sound After Nougat Update

Problem: Hello, after the 7.0 android update I’ve been getting weird lagging sound almost on all apps, it also happens when I’m using headphones, common issues found in YouTube, Spotify Facebook videos and so on. It’s strange that it does not happen on phone calls though. Please help.

Solution: There’s a possibility that this problem is caused by some conflict in the phone software. What you should do first in this case is to make sure that all of your apps are updated. Go to the Google Play Store my apps section and check if there are any updates available for your app.

If all of your apps are updated and the issue persists then proceed with the following steps.

  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Edge Google Play Store Keeps Popping Up

Problem: Every so often no matter what I’m doing on my phone, Google Play Store suddenly pops up and takes me to download some sort of cleaner. Only once did it direct me to angry birds but all other times it keeps taking me to download this cleaner. I’ve tried installing the best cleaning apps but none of them detect it. I’ve tried soft reset and uninstalling all recent apps but nothing is helping. I don’t want to factory reset. Please help me remove this issue.

Solution: This issue is usually caused by some app you downloaded that is carrying some malicious code that lets you download certain apps. It could also be caused by visiting certain websites from your phone browser. To fix this problem you should try clearing the cache and data of the browser app. You should also uninstall any app that you suspect might be causing this problem. In case the issue persists then you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Edge Screen Is Black

Problem: Hello, My samsung screen recently went out. It has no service, and I use it only to connect to wifi. The screen is about 2/3 black, with white cracks among it, so now I can only see the 1/3 top of the screen. I would really like to fix this, if so without buying new parts if possible. If you can help, it would mean a lot. Thank you.

Solution: Unfortunately it looks like the display is already damaged. You can check this further by starting the phone in recovery mode then doing a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. If the issue still occurs after the reset then you will need to have the display replaced at a service center.

S6 Notification Not Working Properly

Problem: I have a Galaxy S6 Edge.  Also I have a Galaxy S4. I have the same apps and ringtones installed on both. The problem is audio notifications not waking the S6 up from screen off. (Email, Twitter etc.). I have both phones side by side. I get on my PC to test them. I make a RT on Twitter and my S4 notifies me within a couple of seconds. I wait and wait and nothing from the S6. I make a second Tweet and then both phones notify me of the Tweet. The same scenario for emails accounts like Gmail. The S6 is not waking up with the first notification but will wake on a second notification if it’s made soon after the first. What can I do to make the S6 work properly?

Solution: It looks like this is caused by a software glitch. Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. If this doesn’t work then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
