The #Samsung #Galaxy #S6Edge+ is one of the three high end smartphone models that Samsung released in 2015. The main difference of this model over the regular S6 Edge is that it uses a larger 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display that curves around the edges. Because of the large screen the phone can also accommodate a much larger 3000mAh battery. Although this is a solid performer there are instances when certain issues can occur on the device which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S6 Edge+ heats up then shuts down issue & other related problems.

S6 Edge+ Heats Up Then Shuts Down
Problem: Hi My Samsung galaxy s6 edge + is one and half year old. It started heating up and shutting down. I backed up my data and ran factory reset but still it is heating up and shutting down. I only installed WhatsApp and other programmes were not installed. Even Samsung backup account was not signed in to avoid any problem. Can you please guide on the issue. Regards
Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and the issue still persist then there’s a possibility that this is already caused by a faulty battery. The best thing that you can do right now is to have the battery checked and possibly replaced at a service center.
S6 Edge+ Does Not Charge After Battery Got Drained
Problem: I own a samsung galaxy s6 edge plus. my phone was working fine yesterday night. I was in office when the battery drained out. Since then it is not charging. I have tried different chargers and cables. I have the original charger itself. Still no go.. No water issues or fall down issues with phone. just happened all of a sudden. It wont power on or charge now. Please help
Solution: Sometimes it will take some time for the phone to respond if you charge it from a totally drained state. What you should do right now is to leave the phone charging for at least 20 minutes then check if the phone turns on. If it doesn’t then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed.
- Charge the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger. If there is no response then try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
- Turn on the phone by pressing the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds.
If the above steps doesn’t fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.
S6 Edge+ Stuck In Bootloop After Rooting Phone
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ is stuck in a boot loop after i tried to root it, the rooting failed so i tried to flash ROM it, which also failed and now i don’t know what to do anymore.
Solution: What you will want to do in this case is to simulate a battery pull first by pressing the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Once this is done start the phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of the device then follow this up with a factory reset. Once this is done proceed with flashing your phone with an updated stock firmware file. Your phone should be fixed after this.
S6 Edge+ Screen Is Black After Phone Got Dropped
Problem: My phone screen is black after knocking into table on carpet floor. Can’t be digitizer as it still responds to my touch. I can tell because it still makes noise as I swipe across it. Fix it place told me 250 for new digitizer. Any other possibilities?
Solution: It’s very likely that the display assembly got damaged by the drop. To check if this is the case try starting the phone in recovery mode. If the display works in this mode then the issue could be caused by a software glitch. You should try performing a factory reset in this mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data. In case the problem persists even in recovery mode then you will most likely have to get the display assembly replaced at a service center.
S6 Edge+ Not Charging
Problem: I have a Samsung galaxy s6 edge plus. The power cords wont charge my phone anymore. I tried several. Now the wireless charging is being a little glitchy. Still charging… but it does better if i turn it off. Not always, and not able to turn off, because expecting a phone call. Sometimes it has problem powering down. And buttons stick. What is a good remedy? Also the battery drains a little faster than normal.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to clean the charging port of the phone making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in it is removed. You can use a can of compressed air to clean this port. Once this is done check if the phone can charge using a wall charger. If the issue persists then you should check if this is caused by a software glitch. To do this just backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be a hardware related issue. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge+ Screen Is Black But Phone Is Working
Problem: My daughter was playing on my phone in kids mode and she brought it to me with a black screen. When I touch the screen I can hear buttons being pressed but nothing happens on screen. The back key and the recent key light up. I let the phone die so I could charge and turn it back on hoping that would reset it but it did not work. Held the power and volume down buttons until the phone turned off and turned back on, still nothing. I am freaking out that I’m going to lose all my files and pictures! Please help!
Related Problem: Hello I dropped my samsung galaxy s6 edge plus. The next day the phone was working fine I just had a vertical line from the top to bottom on the left edge. The following morning I woke up to a black screen. I’ve tried the volume+power button it does come on but once the phone goes in sleep mode its black again
Solution: It’s very likely that the display assembly of the phone is damaged or has a loose connection to the motherboard. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge+ No Sound When Calling Using Stock Phone App
Problem: I can use third party apps to make and receive phone calls, with no issues with in-call audio. However, the native phone (stock) app has no audio whatsoever… I’ve tried more than a couple different supposed ‘call audio fix’ s and one even almost bricked my device. None have produced any results. I work for UbreakIfix in Sacramento, so I’ve had my share of experience with troubleshooting phone issues but somehow I seem to be a rare case when it comes to this particular issue. Tried safe mode, reset, complete wipe and fresh install of nougat, issue persists. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
Solution: This appears to be a hardware related problem already possibly caused by the audio chip or internal speaker not activating when the stock phone app is used. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge+ Music Skips When Screen Sleeps
Problem: I have an issue where, whenever I play music (be it saved on my device, or streaming), it plays fine while the screen is turned on. When the screen turns off, however, the music starts to skip and make a strange, electronic-sounding distortion noise every few seconds. It’s very annoying and ruins my listening experience. Any ideas on how to address this?
Solution: Try checking if the problem occurs in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the issue occurs in Safe Mode then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
