S6 Edge Screen Flashes On And Off
Problem: Around 5pm Friday May 5th I received a new at&t update for my S6 Edge, after the installation my facebook app and screen flashes on and off. Prior to that apps would just open and run without me starting them. I’ve reset my phone, cleared cache etc. I have absolutely no idea what is going on please help.
Solution: Does the problem occur when using the Facebook app? If it does then you should try uninstalling the app and install a fresh version from the Google Play Store.
In case the problem occurs even when you are not using the Facebook app then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Perform a simulated battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Once the phone restarts check if the issue still occurs.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If the problem is caused by old software data causing a conflict with the new software version then this step will fix the problem.
S6 Edge Touchscreen Not Responding
Problem: Hi there, My touch screen screen is not responding. I have tried the above method to reboot. Still the same. So i retry the safe mode method and still it is the same. I wanted to try the third method to hold the power ,home and volume ..unfortunately i’m unable to switch off the phone. While try this method, nw my phone has started to flicker .. please advice, thank you
Solution: What you need to do right now is to access the recovery mode of your phone and from here do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. Once the reset is complete immediately check if the issue still occurs. If it does then your phone might have a damaged digitizer. You will have to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked. If The digitizer is found to be damaged then you will have to replace the whole display assembly of your phone.
S6 Edge Screen Has Vertical Green Lines
Problem: Initially screen went black yet the phone continued to run in the background. After leaving the phone to charge overnight, the screen somehow started working again, but, with vertical green line down left edge.
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular problem is to check if an app you installed is causing the vertical green line to appear. To do this you have to start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone is operating in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the problem occurs even in Safe Mode then you will have to backup your phone data and do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete and the issue still occurs then the display might already be physically damaged. If this is the case then you will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Plus Black Screen
Problem: I am on vacation, 700 miles from home…my Galaxy 6S edge plus was working fine….I took pics, put them on FB…tried using the phone later, black screen…I have tried ALL the troubleshooting tips….at times, the screen lights up, green and white lines…but nothing else…I am a grandmother and very upset at this issue…and what time in
Solution: What you should do first in this case is to perform a simulated battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If you are still seeing a black screen then start your phone in recovery mode and perform the following steps.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone then restart your device.
- Do a factory reset ( from recovery mode). Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the above steps don’t fix the problem then you need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Plus Left Edge Not Responding
Problem: I just bought an s6 edge plus today and the left edge doesn’t respond to touch. I can’t use the a or other letters or buttons located in the left edge without turning my phone sideways or swiping and hoping that predictive text gets it. Will I have to replace the entire digitizer and screen to fix this problem
Solution: You need to check if this is caused by a software glitch first by performing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If the issue still remains after the reset then this is probably caused by a faulty digitizer. You will need to have the whole display assembly replaced to fix this problem.
S6 Edge Plus Not Working After Getting Wet
Problem: approx half cup of water went into the mobile. it was running after that but suddenly the screen got blank. although the functions are working. the screen has stopped showing anything.
Solution: It looks like your phone has been water damaged. The first thing to do in this particular case is to place your phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. After 48 hours have passed check if the phone turns on. You might need to charge the phone for at least 20 minutes if you get no response.
If the issue persists after performing the steps listed above then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
