S6 Crashes Randomly Reboots

Problem: My Samsung galaxy s6 crashed completely. It would randomly reboot by itself and later on started to freeze on the installing system update page. I have performed factory reset on my device. However, once the phone rebooted once more the phone kept freezing at the Samsung logo and rebooted once more. It kept doing that in a loop until the battery died. When I charged it, it still continued to do so. Is there anything I can do?

Solution: Since you have already performed a factory reset and the issue still persists then you should consider flashing your phone with an updated stock firmware file. This allows you to check if the problem is caused by a corrupt phone software. You can download the firmware from the Sammobile website which is also where you can find the instructions on how to flash your phone.

In case the issue still persist then this is most likely a hardware related problem already possibly caused by a faulty internal component. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Getting Software Update

Problem: I just bought a samsung galaxy s6. And it says update software I push it. It goes through a little then says no firmware. I read online to hook my phone up to my computer and download smart switch. I checked the software on my phone it’s kernel. Apparently. There is a new one that just got out. It’s nougat I believe. Anyhow I tried the steps on smart switch and it said the phone is updated to current software. But it’s not it keeps trying to download the update on my phone. I have tried factory reset. Everything also my battery does not last long. Can you tell me how to fix this. This phone was expensive. And I’m so frustrated I got it on Friday this is day 3 of messing with it.

Solution: For the issue of the phone software not updating you should try to perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Backup your phone data then start the phone in recovery mode. From here perform a factory reset. Once this is done restart your phone.
  • Connect your phone to a strong Wi-Fi network then update your check for any software updates available. Update the phone accordingly.
  • If the update does not install then you should consider manually flashing this update using Odin. You can download the updated firmware file of your phone from the Sammobile website which is also where you can find the instructions on how to flash your phone.

For the issue concerning the battery quickly draining you will have to check if this same issue still occurs even after a factory reset ( with no apps installed yet). In case it does then there’s a possibility that the battery might already be faulty in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Firmware Update Failed Error

Problem: I have a software update it will go through but when it get to the recovery menu it say no command and restarts when my phone comes back on its says firmware update failed error i don’t know why it’s something to do with the recovery mode

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if your phone is running on the updated software version and if it isn’t you will have to update your device. If the issue still persists then you  should consider manually flashing the updated firmware file using Odin. You can get the firmware file of your device from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.

S6 No Software Updates Available

Problem: I got a brand new Samsung Galaxy s6 SMG920F I got it just this year so I assume there’s been a software update for it….however when I go to “about device” and tap on software update nothing happens Literally, nothing happens I’ve done it quite a lot of times and searched the Internet for solutions but I haven’t found any It’d be great if I could get help on this issue Thank you for your time

Related Problem: Hi guys, thank you for offering to help. Just trying my luck on this one: My Galaxy S6 Duo isn’t won’t update to Nougat. My friends with S6 mobiles have already updated. Had some recent software updates but I think it was just for my current version 6.0.1. Hope to hear from you guys! Thanks and have a great day!

Solution: There are several factors that can prevent the phone from getting the official software updates. Listed below are the main causes.

  • The phone has been rooted.
  • The phone is running on a custom software.
  • The phone has been unlocked and i now running on a different network.

If the phone is rooted or running on a custom software then it won’t be able to get the official update. The same goes if the phone is unlocked and running on a different network since it won’t be able to access the update servers of its original network.

In case your phone is not affected by the factors listed above then you can try using Smart Switch to update your phone.

Another thing that you should consider is to flash the updated firmware file using Odin. You can download the updated firmware file of your phone from the Sammobile website which is also where you can find the instructions on how to flash your phone.

S6 White Lines On Screen

Problem: Hi Really hope you can help. This morning the screen of my Samsung S6 started displaying weird lines and kind of pulsing. I turned it off and turned it on again. it came back on but did the same thing again. Then a white line appeared on the right side of the screen and grew wider. I tried turning it off again. This time the white line appeared at the  bottom of the screen, obscuring some of the home screen. Then the screen went black. Every button I press now does nothing except give me blue flashes on the screen. I have tried all the tips suggested on your site but nothing is working. I cannot get it to turn on at all now. I bought it 2nd hand on Amazon in July and it’s been working perfectly. I love it! it has all my contacts on it and all my holiday photos. i’ll be gutted as I haven’t backed them up anywhere. the phone is fully charged. I don’t know what the android version is. Please help!

Solution: The first thing that you need to do right now is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You can also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related issue.
