S5 Unlocked Verizon Not Getting Software Updates On Other Network
Problem: I have a verizon phone which I recently kept and switched to the t-mobile network. After I made the carrier switch, I performed and factory reset to clean it up and start over with the new network but now I can’t get system updates. It sounds like it’s because it’s a verizon phone and im no longer on the verizon network which would host the updates….? Correct? Any ideas? It’s an older phone and really could use the updated software!
Related Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 unlocked. The device is a product of Verizon, with all of Verizon bloatware. I live in Nicaragua, the phone works fine: however I am stuck on 5.0 lollipop software. I know there has to be updated for this device model-sm-G900V . When I look for update, a message says Verizon not available. Well I unstandardized because I live in Nicaragua. How can I download a new build or firmware for this device
Solution: If the phone was originally a Verizon device and it was unlocked then used on a different network then there’s a possibility that it won’t be getting the official software updates.
If you have already tried doing a factory reset ( make sure that you have made a backup of your phone data) then used Kies to perform the update without any results then the best way to proceed right now is to manually flash the updated firmware file to your phone. Download the updated firmware file from this website https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G900V/
The instructions on how to flash your phone are also shown in that website. Take note that your phone will be erased in this process so make sure to backup your phone data before proceeding.
S5 Verizon Unlocked Voicemail Not Working On AT&T
Problem: My daughter bought an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S5 and used it on Verizon service. She has given me the phone to use but I have AT&T service. I have the phone on thru AT&T but the phone keeps trying to use Verizon. When shut the phone off and when it loads it pulls up the Verizon icon and then tells me the sim card is not a Verizon sim card. I can make calls and sent texts with the phone but it will not let me listen to my voice mail. How do I get the phone to realize I’m with AT&T now??? Thanks for your assistance
Solution: For this particular problem you should make sure first that your voicemail is properly setup. Activate your voicemail first under AT&T. Refer to this website for instructions https://www.corp.att.com/smbcc/aio/aio_voicemail_start.html
Once your voicemail has been activated you should be able to use your voicemail.
S5 Resets On Its Own
Problem: My phone has gone completely haywire… it did some kind of reset, totally unprompted while I was sleeping and it was laying on the end table. 90% of my stored information and apps are wiped clear out of my phones memory.. some things have returned, but nothing too much of importance, and the latest list of contacts to also appear 48 hours later while I was asleep, are unfamiliar to me. This is very troubling for months of messages, pics, apps, and contacts no longer exist.
Solution: Your phone should not erase its data on its own unless the data was manually deleted or a factory reset was performed. Third party apps installed in your phone does not have the ability as well to erase the data in your phone since they don’t have the permission necessary to do so.
This problem is either caused by a software glitch or a bad memory block in your phone.
The best way to proceed in this case is to backup any data that you still have in your phone. Once this is done do a factory reset. After the reset try to observe if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to have your phone checked at a service center.
S5 Unable To Finish Updating Software
Problem: My phone never finished updating. i have received the same message about the installation being interrupted and unable to finish updating. However, when I check on my phone, it tells me my software is up to date.
Solution: Try to check the software version that your phone is running on right now. If it is the latest version then it has been successfully updated. If it is still running on an older software version then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete manually check for the software update. I also recommend that you try using Kies to update your phone software.
S5 Kaspersky Internet Security Stopped Working After Marshmallow Update
Problem: since the marshmallow update, kaspersky internet security has stopped working.. all it does is start the app, with a black box in the center, loading symbol : starting kaspersky internet security… samsung galaxy s5 mini many thanks
Solution: Try uninstalling the Kaspersky app then install an updated version from the Google Play Store. This should fix the problem that you are experiencing with the app. If the issue remains and it’s only this app that is having a problem running after the Marshmallow update then I recommend that you contact the app developer regarding this matter.
S5 Unified Daemon Has Stopped Error
Problem: I keep getting the error “Unified Daemon Has Stopped”. I’ve taken the battery out and went to the Application Manager to clear the caches (which I never found the unified Daemon under the Application Manager). I went and wiped the caches. Still getting error. Not sure how to fix this.
Solution: According to Samsung “Unified Daemon is an application for Weather, Stock, and News app. It shows the total data usage from Accuweather.com, Yahoo Finance, and Yahoo News. The data is requested by Alarm, Desk Clock, S Planner, Camera, and Briefing app.”
If the app keeps on stopping then go to the application manager then clear the cache and data of the unified daemon app.
S5 Sync Is Currently Experiencing Problems It Will Be Back Shortly Error
Problem: I am trying to send photos from my Gallery to my Google Drive. When I go to Settings, Applications, Gallery, (select account above), Sync (everything is checked). Message at bottom of screen is “Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly.” This has been going on for hours. I’ve tried rebooting my phone. I haven’t tried removing the battery (phone case is hard to get off). What do you suggest?
Solution: The first thing you should do in this particular case is to verify if the problem is caused by the connection. Try connecting your phone to a different Wi-Fi network then check if the same issue still occurs. If it does then I recommend that you logout from your Google account from system settings – accounts – Google. Once this is done log back in. This should fix the problem.
