Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Shuts Down Does Not Charge Issue & Other Related Problems

Note 5 Shuts Down Does Not Charge

Problem: My Husband has the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. He has had it for just over a year and last night it shut down, and would not charge. I have been trying all of the fixes that I could find and nothing has worked to get to charge. I have tried volume down + power, i have tried volume up + power, i have tried volume up + power + home. i have tried volume down + power + home. the screen comes on the phone tries to start but the battery life is at 0 and so the phone just shuts down. the screen popped up with no system and then shut down again. I have no idea what to do

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge to turn on the phone. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to charge your phone.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port in case it doesn’t charge using a wall charger.
  • When turning on the phone press and hold the power and volume down buttons simultaneously for at least 10 seconds.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 5 Screen Flickers After Software Update

Problem: Hello , I have a note 5 since 1 year when I installed last update firmware I had issue that it’s working normally except when I open camera or video or downloading screen starts to jumping crazy after 10 seconds maybe and I did all troubleshooting.. I can’t resolve this problem

Solution: You should try to check if the issue occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If the issue doesn’t occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue still occurs in Safe Mode then backup your phone data then perform the steps listed below. The steps below will delete the old software data of the phone which might be causing this problem.

  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Perform a factory reset.

Note 5 Middle Of Screen Not Responding

Problem: Hello, my Note5 is not responding to touch in the middle part of the screen from the top to bottom about the width of a finger, regardless of the app I am using. Any ideas would be so welcome. Thanks.

Solution: Try to check if the issue occurs in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the problem still persists in Safe Mode then this is most likely caused by a damaged digitizer. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center if this is the case.

Note 5 Randomly Shuts Off Becomes Unresponsive

Problem: phone randomly shuts off and becomes unresponsive. It has happened in the past before but only for short periods of time. It has just done it again but now it’s been unresponsive for over 2 hours. I tried to do a force reboot and held the lock/up volume/home button for 20 seconds and tried multiple times for even longer yet the phone still did not respond.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start your phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

In case the issue still persists after the reset then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 5 Has Pink Spot On Screen

Problem: I have a pink spot on the top of my galaxy note 5 it started to appear 2 or 3 days ago and it was light at first but now it keeps getting darker and is spreading more on my screen. I have not dropped my phone or it has not been dropped in water either. I don’t know i might have hit it somewhere accidentally but please help me fix this . I will be really thankful .

Solution: It’s very likely that this pink spot that is spreading is caused by a damaged display. To verify if this is the case you should perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone is started in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the pink spot does not occur then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by a damaged display assembly. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 5 Screen Is Unresponsive

Problem: My phone had a protective screen for the glass but I’ve dropped it a few times and now it’s completely unresponsive it’s got light cracks from the protective glass screen [right before I took the protective glass off] but now it doesn’t respond at all I don’t know what to do my phone will light up with the thumbprint after I restarted it but won’t let me type anything for my password. I plan on upgrading to the note 8 but not with this kind of shit going on over a screen it’s been fine with the exception of the last two weeks after i downloaded and updated it. It has seemed to deem the screen inaccessible when it was working fine before

Solution: It looks like the digitizer of the phone might not be working anymore. To check if this is the case you should perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. You can backup the data using Smart Switch and perform the reset from the recovery mode.

In case the above steps doesn’t fix the problem then this could already be caused by a defective digitizer. You will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

Note 5 Not Turning On After Drop

Problem: Hi. i dropped my samsung note 5 on the ground now it has no life at all/ no power at all.. what seems to be the problems with this phone? hope you could be so nice to resolved this problem. hoping hearing from you soon

Solution: It looks like the phone might be damaged by the drop. The battery might be disconnected or some other component could be faulty. You can try to perform the troubleshooting steps listed below to fix the problem.

  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger.
  • Press and hold the power and volume down buttons simultaneously for at least 10 seconds.

If the phone does not turn on then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
