Today we will tackle the Galaxy Note 5 fully charged but not turning on issue & other related problems. What happens in this case is that despite the phone indicating that it has a full charge it won’t turn on. We will be addressing this particular problem as well as the other issues concerning this device that have been sent our way.

Note 5 Fully Charged But Not Turning On
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was working fine this morning at 6:30 then I went to school so I had to power it off. When I got home, it would not turn on. I have already tried to hold the power key, home key, and volume down key. However, it does not vibrate or turn on. When i plug it in the battery symbol comes on and says it is fully charged, so it isn’t a display problem. What should I do to fix this problem? Thanks!
Solution: Try simultaneously pressing the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds, Your phone should restart after this, If it doesn’t then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
- Connect the phone to its wall charger then let it charge for at least 20 minutes.
- With the phone still connected to its charger try turning it on.
If the above steps don’t work then try starting the phone in recovery mode then form here perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service enter and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related issue.
Note 5 Not Booting Up
Problem: My samsung note 5 isn’t booting up. For the past few days, my note 5 have been experiencing this issue where I have to press the power button several times for the screen to display ( which takes a long time ) and today, It won’t boot no matter how much I try, only a blue light and black screen. I’m very sure it has full battery. It also vibrates etc
Solution: Just like the issue which we have addressed above the first thing that you need to do is to press and hold the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then try connecting the phone to a wall charger and let it charge for at least 20 minutes. With the phone still connected to its charger try turning on the phone. One last troubleshooting step to consider if the phone does not turn on is to start the device in recovery mode. If the phone starts in this mode then you should perform a factory reset. Take note though that the reset will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 5 Shuts Off when Battery Level Reaches 40%
Problem: Whenever the battery level reaches in the 50’s or 40’s, it repeatedly shuts off then restarts. I got a new battery and yet, still experiencing the same issue. I’ve done a soft reset to get rid of apps draining my battery but still hasn’t the fix this problem. Is there a software or hardware issue here? How can this be fixed?
Solution: You should backup your phone data then do a factory reset then once the reset is complete do not install any apps in the phone. Try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then the problem could either be caused by a faulty battery or faulty power IC. The best thing to do is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 5 Not Fast Charging Wirelessly
Problem: I just bought a Samsung Wireless Fast Charger EP-PN920. My note 5 does charger while sitting on the pad, but it’s just a regular charge not fast charge. The pad has fast charge on it, so is this just not compatible with the phone for fast charging or is there something I’m not doing right?
Solution: To make sure that the phone will fast charge using the wireless charger make sure that the phone does not have any case installed as this might interfere with the charging process. You will get a full charge from a drained state in just 120 minutes.
Note 5 Touchscreen Only works With Stylus After Drop
Problem: My note 5 fell and after 5 minutes the screen started to get purple and will only touch with the stylus and not my fingers… is that u need a digitizer or a screen?
Solution: It appears that the phone digitizer has been damaged by the drop. Since the digitizer is fused to the screen then the whole display assembly will need to be replaced. Just bring the phone to a service center and have it checked so that this can be properly fixed.
Note 5 Screen Is Dim
Problem: My galaxy note 5 will power on and you can barely see the screen and the brightness is all the way up and it’s still dim looking you have to strain to see the screen is there any way to fix that problem??
Solution: Try checking if the same issue occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the issue occurs in this mode you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
In case the issue persists then this is already a hardware related problem possibly caused by a faulty display assembly. You will need to have this checked at a service center.
Note 5 Screen Is Black After Drop
Problem: this morning i dropped my phone and it went dark. all i see the blue light at the top. when i press the power button on the right for 3 sec, i see flicker of color then it goes away. i don’t think i backup my data . please help if you can. thank you much.
Solution: If you need to retrieve your phone data then you should try connecting the phone to a computer with Smart Switch installed then backup your phone data using. To fix the problem you need to check if this is caused by a software glitch or a faulty hardware. The best way to do this is to start the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then it could be caused by software glitch. You will need to perform a factory reset form here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to work then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.
Note 5 Screen Is Green At Low Brightness
Problem: I get a green screen at low brightness and when I unlock the phone. It makes it impossible to unlock, flashing between green and blank. I’ve done two factory reset, the first seemed to help, the second did not.
Solution: If a factory reset does not fix the problem then this is most likely a hardware related issue already possibly caused by a faulty display. The best thing that you need to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
