Note 5 Freezes Then Restarts

Problem: My galaxy note 5 has been freezing up and restarting itself for the last couple days. Usually when it freezes I would turn it off then  turn it on again it would work for a little bit. Well the last time I did that my phone completely restarted itself and I lost everything from contacts, pictures, apps, etc. Why did it do that and how do I get everything back. I don’t know if i had those things backed up or not but I’m beyond upset that it would do that. Please help!!! I’m beyond stressed and could use help!

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. To do this you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the problem still occurs then this could already be caused by an internal hardware component that is failing to work. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

Note 5 No SIM Error

Problem: My galaxy note 5 started to randomly say that there is no SIM card and will not allow any network connections. I’ve restarted the phone a few times and did a factory reset, but nothing has fixed the problem.

Solution: Try removing the SIM card from your phone then clean the SIM slot using a can of compressed air. You should then insert the SIM in a different phone and check if the same issue will occur. If it does then you should consider getting a SIM replacement. If the problem does not occur then reinsert the SIM back to your phone then check if the problem still persists. If it does then the SIM card reader of the phone might be faulty in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 5 Only Works With S Pen After Drop

Problem: my phone was dropped and it hit on the corner  the screen is not broken however there is a white-blue patch in the corner on the right hand side.  it will not recognize touch  but will work with the s-pen.  some of the screens when they open are faded and the white-blue patch takes over the entire screen.   is there something i can do?

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then the problem is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. The primary suspect is the display getting damaged by the drop. The best thing that you can do in this situation is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 5 Restarting On Its Own

Problem: Hi. My samsung galaxy note 5 suddenly started restarting on its own several times a day. I  cleared the cache and also rebooted it in safe mode. The problem persisted. Finally, I did a factory reset. Following that, the phone worked properly for 30 min and then it went blank and a message KERNEL PANIC UPLOAD MODE appeared. I yet again did a factory reset. After restarting, the screen went blank once again. The service centre people said that the motherboard need to be replaced. Is there any other alternative?

Solution: You could try flashing the phone with its updated stock firmware file. You can get this file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.

In case this fails to fix the problem then the motherboard might need to be replaced.

Note 5 Google Maps Voice Not Playing On Car Bluetooth

Problem: When i use my Galaxy Note in the car and activate Google Maps i get voice commands from the Google Maps app through my phone speakers but can’t listen to music or play podcasts from my phone.  I can see the podcast titles or songs being activated but the sound will never play.  My IPhone friends say their phones easily do this double tasking in their cars all the time. Any idea how to fix?  In case Bluetooth may be another detail, i do have Bluetooth activated between the car and phone but Google Maps voice always comes out of my phone only and not my car speakers.  I didn’t set it up that way but that’s just how it works. i just picked any software below i have no idea what the software is that runs on my phone. Where do you even look for that?  Thanks!

Solution: Try checking the Bluetooth settings of the phone and under paired devices go to your car bluetooth connection. From here check call audio, uncheck media audio & check messages audio. Try to check if the issue still occurs.

Note 5 Screen Is Black With Notifications

Problem: Phone suddenly turned off while taking snapshots. Phone turns on but stayed on Samsung logo. Next few tries the screen stayed black. I can hear sounds when turned on and notification sounds. Done many remedial measures from web research. Laptop connection displayed phone folders. What else can I do to bring it to normal use? Thanks.

Solution: The best thing to do right now is to backup your phone data using Smart Switch then try starting the phone in recovery mode. From here you should do a factory reset. If the screen is still black even in recovery mode then the display assembly might be damaged. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

Note 5 No Mobile Data

Problem: I bought this phone second hand, since i got it, it does not pick up any mobile data. I connected it to Wifi then it kind of works. But even with the wifi connected i can still not go into my browser. I have tried the reset methods on your website every time it says error, it seems like it is not resetting to factory setting or even clearing any of the data. I really need to know what i can do next to reset the phone or how to fix the issue?

Solution: The best thing that you can do for this particular issue is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. If this doesn’t work then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need  to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
