Note 5 Battery Drains Fast
Problem: So i have been playing a game called Rules Of Survival Which also consume a lot of battery. So i was charging while playing and i didnt take notice that the battery was at 100%. So until then i kept on doing it for the last 5days midnight and also i’m using a fast charger. When i went out and eat dinner. My battery was at 100%. So when i finish my dinner like 20 or 30 minutes i notice that my battery suddenly went down to 60% plus usually i close every app and etc including the wifi and mobile data to prevent battery consumption. After that i was on the way back home and listening to music after that my battery went to 50% to 21% instantly. Please help me
Solution: The best way to troubleshoot this problem is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the same issue occurs. If it does then there’s a possibility that you will need to have the battery of your phone replaced. I suggest that you have the battery checked and replaced at a service center.
Note 5 Gets Very Hot
Problem: Hey there! I’m really hoping you can help me. My Samsung Note 5 suddenly got very hot while I was walking inside the mall and when I checked (10mins after I last used it), the screen went blank. I tried loads of times to restart it using the power button but nothing happens, it just continued to be hot and blinked a blue light on the LED and flashed the back and home button 3 times. A few hours later, I figured that the battery has already been drained. Now at home, I’ve already plugged it in for 3 hours and it still wouldn’t charge. Does this mean I have to let my Note 5 go?
Solution: What you should do first in this case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge to turn on the phone. To do this you will need to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in the port. Once this is done charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port. Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both the power and volume down buttons.
If the issue persists then this is most likely caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly. The best thing to do in this case is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 5 Randomly Restarts After Software Update
Problem: A few months back now, I received a security update Or software update from Samsung and since then, the phone has been useless really. It restarts itself and 99% if the time won’t turn back on. Sometimes gets stuck in bootloop and I have to wrestle with it for hours just to get the thing to boot up correctly. Performance is also seriously lacking too. However, since I installed a wake lock app, the phone seems fine. I just can’t let the battery run out or switch it off or I’ll have the problems i mentioned above. I have a software upgrade available OTA but I cannot install it because the phone needs to restart to apply the update. I’ve tried numerous times to install it but when it says “your device will now restart” it goes off and won’t come back on. And obviously that cancels out the update. I contacted samsung about it and they suggested I take it to a service centre. Which is a long way away from me.
Solution: It looks like this is already a hardware related problem possibly caused by a faulty power IC. You can however still troubleshoot this issue by first performing a factory reset then start the phone in recovery mode. From here you need to wipe the cache partition of the phone then do a factory reset. After the reset is complete check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to have this fixed at a service center.
Note 5 Recovering Data From Phone That Will Not Turn On
Problem: My husband bought this Samsung Note 5 in Taiwan. At first, the issue was that the battery keeps draining fast even when he charges it properly and does not really overuse the phone. When he arrived in the Philippines, he had the phone checked by a local phone repair shop and they deemed the battery defective so it was replaced with a new one. It was working well for almost 4 weeks when suddenly the phone will not turn on. Now, the battery will not even charge when plugged. It will only show the icon that says it is charging for almost 2 seconds and then nothing. Other than that, the power button is also busted. A Samsung Repair Center here in the country advised of a power button replacement and battery replacement. However, they said it may reformat the phone and have all files deleted. I wish we can copy the photos before that happens but the phone does not get detected when plugged in laptops at all.
Solution: You should have the power button and battery of the phone replaced. Before letting the service center do a factory reset have them contact you so that you can backup your phone data. This is the only way you will be able to recover the data stored in the phone.
Note 5 Screen Has Purple Color Blot
Problem: Hi, My Note 5 has got purple blue egg size at left top for last one month. I don’t think it was an accident. I bought it in jan 2017. Is there any replacement possible?
Solution: The best way to proceed in this case is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the issue persists then the problem is caused by a damaged display. You will need to have the display replaced at a service center.
Note 5 Unable To Sign In To Device Due To Unknown Error
Problem: I CALLED SPRINT TO GET MY GALAXY NOTE 5 PHONE FACTORY UNLOCKED TO USE IT WITH ANY COMPANY-THEY UNLOCKED FOR ME AND TOLD ME TO MAKE A RESET TO THE PHONE-AFTER THE RESET I GET THIS MESSAGE (Unable to sign in to device due to a unknown error, please try another account or try to sign in again after 24 hours)I TRY IT LIKE 10 TIMES AND IT SAYS THE SAME ERROR,CHANGED MY GOOGLE ACCOUNT PASSWORD TO SIGN IN TO MY PHONE AND NOTHING,SAME ERROR, (Unable to sign in to device due to a unknown error, please try another account or try to sign in again after 24 hours)
Solution: Make sure you login with the Google account used on the phone before doing the factory reset. If it is the same account and the issue remains then try connecting your phone to a different Wi-Fi network then check if you are able to login.
