Note 5 Apps Stop Working After Software Update

Problem: I have the Galaxy Note 5. There was a recent update which was installed, October 2017. Since this update some of my apps stop working after a few minutes. What can I do to remedy the situation. Thanks

Solution: Try checking if your phone apps have any update from the Google Play Store then update them accordingly as this issue might just be caused by incompatibility problems. If your apps are all updated and this issue still occurs then this could already be caused by some form of old software data that got left behind during the update process which is causing a conflict with the new software version. The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 5 Shuts Down Then Boots In Kernel Mode

Problem: in my Samsung Note 5  had a problem of keep shutting down by itself and booting in kernel mode. so i changed to new battery and restored with new software version 6.0.1, after my problem of kernel software gone but its keep hanging and shutting off by itself.  please give me a right solution for same model and software link any if i have to install whatever suits best to fix my phone.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should consider flashing your phone with its updated firmware file. You can get the firmware file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.

In case the issue persists then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 5 Stopped Fast Charging

Problem: Hi I have a note 5 that stop fast charging and won’t read pendrives or connect to a pc after I plug it on a defective charger it takes a loot of time to complete charge, I have tried different cables, wall charger, car charger, different cables, soft and hard reset and nothing since to work please help

Solution: Since you have already performed most of the recommended troubleshooting steps for this particular problem and the issue still persists then this might already be caused by a faulty charging port. I recommend that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 5 Stuck In Boot Screen

Problem: I have a galaxy note 5 boots up as far as the “samsung Galaxy notes 5” screen shows up. Sometimes it’ll make it to my wallpaper. It did say it was updating and at 2% for part of this. I have managed to make it to the password input screen, but then it restarted again. The main priority is to pull photos from the device. If the phone could be fixed, great- but the priority is extracting the photos. Only guessing at the version.

Solution: The only way you will be able to retrieve the photos in your phone is if it starts fully. To troubleshoot this issue try charging your phone first for at least 20 minutes. Disconnect the phone from the charger then turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.

In case the issue persists then you should consider doing a factory reset in recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

Note 5 Stuck In T-Mobile Screen

Problem: It all of a sudden occurred just like that. The phone just got stocked at t-mobile startup window.. I depend heavily on this phone for my daily activities. For the moment I bought another phone, an LG just to keep me going. I would like to be able to get my phone back up and running if at all possible. Thank you.

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge by performing the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure to remove any signs of dirt or debris.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.

In case the problem persists then you will have to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 5 Restarts When Battery Reaches 50%

Problem:  Whenever my phone gets around 50% it restarts itself and when I touch any app it does it again. Other times it will just keep restarting over and over without me even touching it. I thought it was a battery issue and got another one. So yeah I’m not sure what to do here. I have autism and I don’t wanna switch to a new device. The S View on this phone is something idk if I could live without.

Solution: For this issue I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If the issue still occurs after the reset then this might already be caused by an internal component that is failing to work properly possibly the power IC. If this is the case then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 5 Can’t Click System Update

Problem: I have a galaxy note 5 and I want to updates it to nougat. The problem is that the update option is not getting clicked. In order words, I can’t enter the system update to do anything. Please assist Thanks

Solution: Is your phone still running on its stock software? If it isn’t then you won’t be able to get the official software update. If your phone is running on its stock software then you should consider doing a factory reset then check if the software update is available. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the above step fails to work then consider flashing the update to your phone using Odin. you can get the updated firmware file of your phone from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.
