Note 5 Apps Not Opening After Nougat Update

Solution: Since the problem is affecting multiple applications then this is most likely caused by some form of old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. This old data usually causes a conflict with the new software version resulting in various issues including the one which you are experiencing with your phone right now. The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 5 Videos Have Echo After Nougat Update
Problem: After installing nougat on my Note 5 all videos played have an echo effect. I tried all of the restarts, dumps etc…wonder if others have this issue. No other features work improperly…
Solution: The videos should not have an echo effect when you play them on your phone after it has been updated to Nougat. The first thing that you need to do is to check the actual video files from another device ( preferably a computer). This way you will be able to check if the problem is with the file itself or the phone.
If the file plays perfectly fine on another device then the next step it to check the video player app that you are using on the phone. Try clearing the cache and data of this app from the application manager then check if the issue still occurs.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 5 Google Play Store Opens Randomly
Problem: Note five. Google play opens randomly and constantly. Any browser of for tested.usually a game our uber page. Started today. about three days after installing latest update.
Solution: The Google Play Store should not open randomly on its own. Does it open to a specific app in the store? If it does then this could be caused by a certain third party app you installed in your phone that is triggering the Play Store to open. To check if the problem is caused by an app you should start your phone in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then it’s possible that some form of adware is causing this problem. The best way to fix this problem is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 5 Recent Apps Not Working
Problem: I have my Note 5 for about a yr and approx 3 wks ago my Recent Apps and none of the apps from the pull down menu work. My Back button works, though. Just stopped for no apparent reason. Had a software update from Samsung through Sprint but that was weeks ago without any problems.
Related Problem: Several times a day the recently used app history displays the message “no recently used apps”. However, it maintains the history, and after the phone is restarted the past history is there. It’s a new Galaxy Note 5 (less than a month old) running Android 6.0.1. Didn’t have the problem until the 6.0 update. I can’t associate it with any particular use of any app or anything else. It seems to be occurring a bit more frequently now.
Solution: The first thing that you should do in this particular case is to restart the phone. Sometimes you just need to refresh the phone software in order for the problem to disappear. If this doesn’t work then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Check if an app you installed is causing this problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 5 App Not Connecting to Internet After System Update
Problem: Well I just bought a brand new note 5 and after I updated the system and all I got this problem whenever I log out from an app or went to the menu the app disconnected from the Internet and when I go back to the app (youtube Facebook messenger..) I got this message that I’m not connected to the Internet although other app works
Solution: Since this issue occured right after a system update I suggest that you restart your phone first. Sometimes restarting your device will fix this kind of problem. If after restarting the phone the issue still occurs then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clear the cache and data of the affected apps from the application manager.
- Check if the affected apps have an update by going to the My Apps section of the Google Play Store
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 5 Screen Overlay Detected Error
Problem: I can not open a few apps, because of an error message including my voice mail. It says Screen overlay detected, go to setting to change this permission setting. but it does not show where or how to change it. What can i do the stop this?
Solution: This issue usually occurs whenever you are running a floating app and you try to run a newly installed app. This newly installed app will ask for access rights which can’t be granted due to the running floating app.
To fix this problem you should force quit any floating app that is running in your phone then let the newly installed app run normally. Once this is done just restart your phone.
Note 5 Unfortunately Verizon Voicemail Has Stopped Working Error
Problem: When I try to open basic voicemail it quickly opens then closes, afterwards I get a message saying “unfortunately, verizon voicemail has stopped working.” I know you have a troubleshooting page with other apps that do this, but I didn’t see anything with my problem. I fixed it for a short while by going into application manager>voicemail>storage then clearing the data, but the fix only lasted a few hours.
Solution: If clearing the cache and data of the Verizon voicemail app only fixes the problem temporarily then I suggest you proceed with wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. If this still fails to work then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
