The #Samsung #Galaxy #Note4 is one of those older phone models that just gets better as time goes by. Released in 2014, this was a high end model back then sporting a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 805 processor combined with 3GB of RAM, and a 16MP camera with OIS just to name a few. A lot of people are using this as their reliable primary device even until now and although it is quite solid there are instances when certain issues can still occur. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy Note 4 will not quick charge issue & other related problems.

Note 4 Will Not Quick Charge
Problem: My note 4 won’t quick charge or connect to my computer. I took it to a local repair shop and they tried a new port but the problem didn’t change. They told me it was my ic power chip. Could you please help me and tell me what might be the problem?
Solution: If the charging port is not causing the problem then it’s very likely that the problem is caused by a damaged power IC. You should try to have this component replaced at a service center then check if the problem still occurs.
Note 4 Screen Stays Black Even If Phone Is On
Problem: My note 4 screen stays black even when it comes on. My keys light up and so does the led light and it makes all the noises to let me know that i have a message or something and that’s it. Please help if you can and yes i did all your steps.
Solution: In vases such as this the most likely cause is a damaged display. If the phone display is the only component that is damaged then you will still be getting notifications of text messages or calls but the screen will still remain black. To verify if this is what’s happening right now you will have to start the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then the problem might just be caused by a software glitch. You will then have to perform a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
In case the screen remains black even in recovery mode then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked. If the display is found to be defective then it’s possible that you will end up having the display assembly replaced.
Note 4 Randomly Shuts Off
Problem: Just got a note 4 off ebay. Seller claims it is new. But device randomly shuts off no matter what I’m doing on phone and will try to turn back on but won’t until it is plugged in. I really don’t want to be without a phone. So trying to fix it. It is a verizon phone but on straight talk. (Can not figure out what version my phone is running)
Solution: If your phone shuts off randomly and does not start unless the charger is plugged then it’s possible that either the battery is faulty or the problem is caused by a malfunctioning power IC.
What you should do first in this case is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. If the phone has a microSD card installed then you should remove it as well. Check if the problem still occurs. If it does then this is most likely a hardware related problem already. You will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.
Note 4 Shuts Down When Battery Power Reaches 55%
Problem: When I fully charge my battery and go about the day when it gets down to about 55% it just shuts down and needs to be charged. When I connect it to the charger it shows that it’s 55% full and continues to charge but doesn’t not let me get on to use it. I am not sure what my Android Version is, so I put “0”. I had this problem once before and I took it back to T-Mobile and I got a refurbished phone but I can’t just keep doing that. Is there anyway to fix this problem for good? Thanks.
Related Problem: Galaxy note 4, shuts off at around 76% try to turn it back on and it gets stuck in a loop like it’s cutting on but does not have enough power to cut on and shuts back off. Then I plug it up and it will cut on.
Solution: What you need to do first in this particular problem is to check if a software glitch is causing the problem by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. Once the reset is complete immediately check if the problem still occurs without installing any apps yet. If the problem persists then try getting a new battery to check if the battery is causing the problem.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Keeps Rebooting Freezing
Problem: My phone keeps rebooting, usually after it freezes. Sometimes it will lag and then freeze and then unfreeze and I’m able to continue to use it. But most of the time, once it freezes, it will then just reboot. Occasionally, I will have to remove the battery when it freezes because no buttons work…not even the power button, and it doesn’t reboot on its own. A couple of times, once it has started rebooting, it will go into odin mode, even though I haven’t touched any buttons.
Related Problem: My phone is very slow . When I click on an app it takes too long to open. It freezes at random and I have to take the battery off and put it back before the turn on bottom works. The phone gets heated too fast maybe just after about 5 minutes in use
Solution: If your phone has a microSD card installed then remove it before doing any troubleshooting as sometimes this card can cause the phone to freeze or reboot. If the problem still occurs then the best thing to do right now is a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If after the reset the problem still occurs then you will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Intermittent Fast Charging
Problem: when using fast charging in my phone (Note 4) the power is connect and disconnect every 30 sec or 60 sec also the sign of the power appear and disappear after I canceled the fast charge from the phone the power working normally how to fix it please because I afraid about my device from the electrical up and down
Solution: What you should do first in this case is to clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port. Next, try charging your phone using a different charging cord and fast charger. If the problem persists then you will need to have the charging port of your phone checked at a service center.
Note 4 Is Not Charging
Problem: Hello I have a note 4 phone. It is not charging. The battery is drained. When I connect to a charger after few second the battery icon is flashing every few second. I have followed the soft reset. it shows the logo Note 4 then turns off. I have already replaced the charging port to a new charging port. It is my one of my client phone. I have looked all your solution but it didn’t looks working any solution. Please help. Any suggestion please
Solution: Try checking if the battery is causing the problem by using a new battery on the phone. You should also try to use a different charging cord and wall charger. If the problem persists then this could be caused by a faulty power IC or charging IC. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
Note 4 Restarts Lags After Software Update
Problem: I read the issues you have listed and I am having the same issues as the person whose title said trouble with the Note 4 restarting and being laggy after the update. I have done all of the things suggested, factory reset, took out SD card, used in safe mode, took phone in and had the software flashed, did the (what I will call DOS) cache clearing. Is there any way to roll back to the previous update? That seems to be my last hope. Thank you
Solution: To rollback to the previous software version you will need to flash the phone with its previous firmware file. You can download this firmware file from the Sammobile website which should also have the instructions on how to flash your phone.
If the issue remains even after flashing back the previous software version then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to its service center and have it checked.
