Note 4 Screen Not Working After Replacing Charging Port
Problem: I replaced the dock port assembly. Went well but when i closed it up, the lights came on for the phone body, not the screen. All i get is a dark screen, could you please give me some advice as to how i can fix it and if it’s even possible. Part was shipped in non ESD bag and i worry that could be an issue
Solution: There are several factors that can cause this particular problem. One of which is that the charging port itself that you got is also defective. Another possibility is that some connection has become loose which is why the screen does not work. It’s also possible that the screen itself has become faulty.
The best way to proceed in this particular problem is to have the phone checked at a service center.
Note 4 Camera Does Not Focus
Problem: Camera will not hold a focus when photographing objects 20″ or closer. It’ll focus for a split second and then blur out. It takes numerous attempts to get it to hold. This happens with or without HDR turned on.
Solution: If your phone camera is having a hard time focusing when taking photos then you should try to perform the following fixes listed below.
- Clean the camera lens using a microfiber cloth. Alternatively, you can also place a scotch tape on the camera lens then gently peel it off. Your aim here is to remove any dust, dirt, or oil residue that might be present in the camera lens.
- If have a phone case installed then try removing it.
- Try clearing the cache and data of the camera app from the application manager.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this might already be caused by a faulty camera module. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Snapchat Drains Battery Very Quickly
Problem: Ok so my phone is normally charged at 100 percent i get on snapchat a lot and it drains the battery pretty fast once it gets to the 60 percentile my phone shuts off and i can’t go on snapchat anymore until it is charged or i have to plug it up and use it when it shuts off on its own it won’t turn back on but when i plug the phone up it says it has 50 percent battery but still wont turn on
Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that your phone software is updated and that you are using the latest version of the Snapchat app. It’s best if you uninstall the Snapchat app first then check if the phone still experiences the battery drain problem. If it doesn’t then the app might be causing the issue. You will just need to download the latest version of the app from the Google Play Store.
In case you are still experiencing the battery drain problem even after the Snapchat app has been uninstalled then you should proceed with the following troubleshooting steps listed below.
- If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing it.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the battery drain problem still occurs. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should try replacing the battery with a new one.
Note 4 Turns Off On Its Own Freezes
Problem: my phone partially shuts off and will not turn on. it often freezes when in use with touch button not working. Started after recent update. I have taken the battery out for minutes to hours at a time to only have it happen again. I also did a soft and hard reset – still it keeps doing this. also when turning on – i get an icon of an unlocked lock. please help. thanks p.s. I do not know the android version, but it was updated 11.2016
Solution: Since you have already peformed a factory reset I suggest that you proceed with a battery replacement. This way you can check if a faulty battery is causing this problem. In case the issue still occurs after this then you will have to bring this phone to a service center and have it checked as it is possible that a faulty power IC is causing this problem.
Note 4 Vibration Not Working After Software Update
Problem: Samsung software update marshmallow which cause a glitch on my phone the vibration does not work any more I try resetting the device, plus few other steps nothing work really need my vibration to work again I rather go back to lollipop no one is helping.
Solution: If a factory reset does not fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a faulty vibration motor. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Reboots Then Gets Stuck On Samsung Logo
Problem: Note 4 turn off , it reboots, sometimes it stays on Samsung sign for a while. On the screen it would have the android green guy on the screen with some writing on the upper left corn of the phone. I try everything on the phone but it does the same thing . I’m thinking it’s boot lagging or the the software is corrupt.
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it then restart the phone. In case this doesn’t fix the problem then you will need to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to manually flash your phone with its updated firmware file. You can download this file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.
Note 4 Battery Drains Quickly Reboots Randomly
Problem: Hi, I am facing problem with my Samsung galaxy Note 4 .
The problem history:
1) From the past 4 months … battery use to drain faster compared to previously
2) After that when the battery is 40% around then it use to switch off and when recharge again it use to work until battery goes to 40 % .
3) Then when battery is 40% around started randomly rebooting ( can not switch off the phone ) Need to remove battery and off the phone.
4) Now it can not be switched ON by battery just goes random re-booting when switch on using battery. If I put it to charge it is I can switch and works normally .
Could you please help me to know what is the issue . Is it battery issue ? Should I change the battery? Or some other issues ?
Solution: What you should do first in this case is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. To do this you need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Alternatively, you can also start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
In case the issue still occurs then you should try replacing the battery with a new one.
Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Cannot Access microSD Card
Problem: Since the update before last, we are unable to access any of the cards on the phone, hence cannot add or delete music files or photos or anything for that matter when hooked to computer, there is no access to anything on the phone, cannot access memory or SD card…HELP!!!
Solution: Try restarting the phone then check if the microSD card can be accessed. If the issue remains then remove the microSD card from your phone then use a card reader to let the computer read the card. If you are able to access the data in the card then I suggest that you make a backup copy. If you are unable to access the data then the card might already be corrupted. The best thing that you can do in this case is to get a new microSD card.
