Note 4 Camera Takes Too Long To Focus
Problem: After the updates in 2016, the vision of my Camera is blurry for a few minutes until you keep pressing the Screen. It was working perfectly well before the updates. Today, after a few updates, my Camera does not improve on the vision focusing.
Solution: If this issue occurred right after your phone got a new software update then the problem could just be caused by a software glitch. Try clearing the cache and data of the camera app first then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. You should also check if some third party app installed in your phone is causing the problem by checking if the issue occurs when your phone is started in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it is very likely caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
One last troubleshooting step you should consider is a factory reset. This will erase all data on your phone so make sure to backup your phone data before doing this step. You also need to wipe the camera lens first using a microfiber cloth as the problem might just be caused by some dirt on the lens.
Note 4 Replacement Camera Has Error
Problem: After camera replacement I receive the error message. I tried couple different cameras for different suppliers from eBay, but had no luck with both…
Solution: Try to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you might be unlucky to have ordered defective camera modules or there might be another component in your phone that is failing to work. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Front Camera Is Blurry
Problem: OK so I got my phone front camera replaced and I think it might of not been installed incorrectly, because when I try and take a picture or a video using the front camera it is blurry a bit. How to reinstall it properly?
Solution: Have you tried checking if the front camera lens is clear of any dirt? If necessary you should wipe the lens using a microfiber cloth. You should also try clearing the cache and data of the camera app and check if this fixes the problem. If it doesn’t then you should recheck the installation of the camera module. Follow this guide on how to replace the front camera https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Samsung+Galaxy+Note+4+Front+Facing+Camera+Replacement/36110.
Note 4 Freezes When Taking A Selfie
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Edge always freezes when taking a selfie with the front camera but works well when using the rear camera.
Solution: In most cases like this the problem is caused by some corrupt data. Try clearing the cache and data of the camera app then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then check if an app you downloaded is causing this problem by starting your phone in Safe Mode. Try taking a selfie in this mode. If the phone does not freeze then the problem could be caused by a third party app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
Other steps that you can perform should the issue remain are as follows.
- Remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Gallery Photos Are Missing
Problem: I have no idea what happened but all of a sudden I lost all my pictures in my gallery folder, as in the folder is empty. I have tons of photos in there that were not yet transferred to any device. Pictures from holidays, daughters graduation etc. I need help so bad. I am trying to use the Easeus mobisaver trial version but it cannot even connect to my Samsung Note 4.
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed and is the card being used as the default storage location for your photos? If it is then try removing the card and let your computer read the card. If no photos are available then they might have been deleted.
If your phone does not have a microSD card installed then I suggest you start your phone in Safe Mode. Once the phone is in Safe Mode check if the photos appear in the Gallery app. If the photos are not available then try to connect your phone to a computer then use the file manager of the computer to browse the DCIM folder of your phone. If the photos can’t be detected then it might have been deleted. You can try to check the Google Photos app if the photos are present there if not then it’s very unlikely that you will be able to recover the photos.
Note 4 Camera Does Not Focus
Problem: I have a galaxy note 4. The camera won’t focus and take a pic. It keeps bouncing around. I tried a factory reset and it didn’t work. What should I do?
Solution: Try cleaning the camera lens with a microfiber cloth. Make sure that any dirt or oil gets removed. If this doesn’t work then you will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Camera Can’t Capture Red Light
Problem: On my galaxy note 4 when I take pictures of red lights at night like traffic lights, they come out white with a faint red glow around them. In other words I can’t photograph red lights.
Solution: To check if this issue is caused by a software glitch perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clear the cache and data of the camera app.
- Check if the issue occurs in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Other things that you should check are as follows
- Does your phone have a screen protector or tempered glass installed that could somehow block the camera lens? Try removing the screen protector.
- Clean the camera lens using a microfiber cloth.
If the issue persists then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 No New Pictures Found Error
Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and have uploaded plenty of pictures to my computer before but now it’s saying there are no new pictures found?!! (I made sure my phone was set to “Media Device.”)
Solution: Try restarting your phone and the computer. When you connect the phone to the computer make sure to change the USB option to MTP.
Note 4 Camera Settings Menu Disappears
Problem: I have a note 4. The camera settings icon ( gear) opens the settings menu, and the menu only stays open for one second. Everything else about the camera seems to work fine.
Solution: For this issue you should try clearing the cache and data of the camera app as the problem could just be caused by a glitch in the app. Once this is done restart your phone then check if the issue still occurs.
