Note 4 Battery Takes Too Long To Charge Drains Fast

Problem: Hello, I’ve been a Note 4  user for the past couple years and to describe this phone fantastic is an understatement. However, this phone faces a weird situation recently (two days ago) where it would take a few hours to charge even with fast charge option ticked. I did a cache wipe yesterday due to an ongoing battery drain issue and I downloaded Gsam app to keep track of the possible battery draining apps. Coincidentally, the charging issue came after the installation of Gsam. Do you think it’s time to change a new battery?

Solution: Any app that you install in your phone as long as it is running will use some battery life. Some apps use just a little battery life while others that run aggressively might use up a lot. In order for you to check if the app you downloaded is causing the problem you will need to start the phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run making it easier to check if a third party app is the culprit. If the battery drain problem does not occur then you should check what app is causing the problem and uninstall it.

In case the issue occurs in Safe Mode then proceed with doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data since it will be deleted in the process.

To fix the issue of the phone taking a long time to charge you should follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem you are experiencing with your phone then you should consider getting a new battery.

Note 4 Randomly Turns Off Then Stats In Download Mode

Problem: note 4 keeps turning off and comes up with downloading something do not turn off all the time then when it does turn on after taking battery out it will do same again I’ve changed the battery but still does this thanks for your help

Solution: What you should do in this case is to start the phone in recovery mode. Once in this mode you should do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data so if you can backup your phone data before performing this step then you should do it. You might have success if you backup your phone data if it is started in Safe Mode.

As soon as the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Kernel Panic Mode

Problem: Hello, on the moment i have a galaxy note 4 sm-n910f. tho phone was bought from austria from the A1 carrier, it was sim locked but i have paid a tax to the carrier and he unlocked the phone. everething was working fine since the last update on 23.07.2017 it was an overnight install the battery was over 90%. baseband N910FXXS1DQA3 BUILD NUMBER MMB29M.N910FXXS1DQFB after this update the phone started to have problems like touchwiz stopped working and asking to wait or close, the touchscreen become unresponsive, and so on.

i have done a wipe cache on the phone and still nothing, and i have decided to make a factory reset, of course i have backuped my phone. after the factory reset and all backed up the phone is still working laggy and  having problems, it restarts itself and is not responsive and in this morning i was on the internet searching something and the phone had a few freez moments and then it restarted bun in a kernel panic mode showing up this:

Kernel panic!

krait info

panic caller: __ext4_abort+0x0/0xe4

panic msg: EXT-fs panic from previous error

thread: pool-3-thread-1:2061

pm8841_rev: 0x0

kernel panic upload mode

nothing happened in about 30 minutes so i removed the battery and restarted the phone, it started up a little heavier and after i have unlock it it restarted again and now is working but laggy. what should i do?  should i make another factory reset or should i try to write a new firmware on it? thank you, have a nice day.

Solution: What you will want to do in this case is to start the phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. Once this is done proceed with a factory reset. After the reset try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to flash your phone with its updated firmware file. You can download the file from the Sammobile website. The website also provides details on how to flash your phone.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related issue.

Note 4 Software Update Keeps On Appearing

Problem: I am trying to do a software update on my Samsung note 4 and it shows there an update and when I hit install now it reboots and says installing system update but when my phone turns on it states there another upgrade available and it repeats the process and keeps saying that. I have a sprint unlocked phone im trying to use in canada on the rogers network. Is there any resolution to this ?

Related Problem: My phone a Note 4 keeps applying update MMB29M.N910VVRS2CQE1 over and over but the update doesn’t stick because every time I installed it it says I need a software update and it’s the same update MMB29M.N910VVRS2CQE1

Solution: There’s a possibility that this problem is caused by a software glitch. What you should do in this case is to backup your phone data. Once this is done start the phone in recovery mode then perform a wipe cache partition. Follow this up with a factory reset. Once the reset is complete the issue should be fixed.

Note 4 Keeps On Freezing Doing Reboot Loop

Problem: I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and have been having issues with my phone. It keeps freezing and doing a reboot loop. I have taken the battery out and reinstalled it and have still been having these issues. I took my micro sd card out and the problem went away. As soon as I put the sd card back in and start up my phone it will freeze and do the reboot loop. Please help! Thank you!

Solution: It looks like the problem is caused by the microSD card. This is usually the case if the card has developed some corrupt sectors. What you will want to do to fix this problem is to replace the card with a new one.

Note 4 Restarting With Constant Blue Light

Problem: The phone keeps coming off and on with a constant blue light on after some time it gets hot and refuse to function as usual. I took it for repair they said it motherboard that if they fix it , it will return to same fault.

Solution: If you have already performed the initial troubleshooting steps such as replacing the battery and doing a factory reset then the problem is most likely caused by a faulty component in the motherboard. You should try bringing your phone to another repair shop and check if they can detect what component is failing to work so that it can be replaced.
