J7 Gallery App Lags Not Responding
Problem: Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime (2016) Hi, I am using this phone for a month now and observed that my built-in gallery app lags when I am opening it. I have to unmount then remount my sd card from the settings for it to be usable again. But after scrolling for few seconds, it will begin to slow down again and then lags and turn up “not responding” so I have to choose between “report” and “wait” options. My SD card is a 64gb Transcend. It was fully functional when I was using it in my LG G5 2 years ago and then I also used it when I switched to Sony XPeria Z2 these past 7 months. I am thinking if is it possible that my Samsung cannot handle my SD card files? There are only pictures and few videos here and I have only used 13 gb from my 59 gb allowable storage. I already installed a Play Store gallery app but experienced the same issue. The photos are not all visible or loads very slowly. Can you help me? Thanks a lot.
Solution: It’s possible that the problem is caused by the microSd card itself. Sometimes bad sectors in this card can cause the phone to have difficulty reading the data stored in it. Try removing this card from your phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then you should consider getting a new card. In case the issue persists then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clear the cache and data of the Gallery app from the application manager. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the problem occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
J7 Locks Up And Crashes
Problem: I am having several problems with my Samsung Galaxy J7. It locks up and crashes for no reason. The flashlight turns on by itself the only fix for that is to take the battery out. I cannot answer incoming calls, I have to call them back. I can attach a picture to text messages for only three people.
Solution: If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing this as this might be causing the problem. If your phone does not have a microSD card or if the issue still occurs even after the card is removed then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this might already be caused by a faulty hardware component in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
J7 Freezing And Lagging
Problem: My Galaxy j7 smartphone keeps freezing and lagging and most of all i can’t use normally Facebook many features simply don’t work In the last few days while using the internet i got a message that the phone has a serious virus therefore i should download certain apps
Solution: If you are getting a message that your phone has a virus and that you need to download apps to fix the problem then your phone is most likely carrying some malware or adware which might be coming from an app you downloaded or by visiting certain website using your phone browser. Since your phone is also freezing and lagging then the best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Make sure to remove the microSD card of the phone before checking if the issue still occurs.
J7 Screen Is Black But Notifications Are Working
Problem: Hi! First, Love your site! I’ve used your advice on several occasions. ..OK so now this is my issue. I’ve got a J7 that’s been working great…the battery got low and I thought it’d died…I charge it as usual…turn it on…all the sounds and touch functions work but the screen is black! I can hear the swipe of my screen lock…the screen itself is responding…but won’t light up when activated..it’s really weird..everything but the visual aspect of the screen is working…it was in an otterbox at the time too…didn’t get wet, didn’t get dropped or damaged in any way whatsoever… I’ve since bought a new phone but would like to get this working… any insight would be appreciated! Thank you!
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode and from here do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. In case the screen remains black even in recovery mode then the problem is most likely caused by a faulty display. You will need to have this checked at a service center.
J7 Not Turning On
Problem: I’ve been using a Samsung Galaxy J7 through straight talk for about 10 months. I had purchased it new. Several days ago the phone would freeze briefly and restart. ..both while in use and when idle. By the end of the day I got a message on the screen about the device being flashed with unauthorized something or other (the screen turned blue green and just had the message, it was only shown a moment before the phone would turn off) after a soft reset the phone would turn on and work for maybe 5 minutes before repeating the process. I do have Norton, and never got a message about any issues through them. I left the phone off for several days and then tried to turn it on to move some pictures onto a flashdrive, but the phone now won’t turn on or reboot. It won’t even charge. What the heck happened? Can I salvage my pictures or the phone? Thanks

Solution: What you will want to do right now is to make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge to turn on the device. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in it gets removed.
- Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger.
- If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
- Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
Once your phone turns on you will now be able to backup the data stored in it. In case the phone does not turn on then you will have to bring this to a service center and have it checked as the problem could be caused by a faulty hardware component.
