J5 Stuck In Samsung Logo
Problem: my phone (samsung j5) is stuck in the samsung logo when I turn it on. then i tried to troubleshoot it by pressing the volume down key, power key and home key at once. then something appeared and suggests to download the custom os. I choose to download the custom os now it is stuck in downloading. how do i fix this?
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to remove the battery of the phone ( if your model is the one with a removable battery). You should also remove the microSD card of your phone if you have one installed. Once this is done press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then turn on the phone. If your phone has a non-user removable battery then just press and hold the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds to restart the device.
In case the phone is still stuck in the Samsung logo then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then perform a factory reset, Take note that this will erase your phone data.
J5 Screen Is Unresponsive
Problem: Hey So i have a problem with my samsung galaxy j5 2016 the screen turns on but is unresponsive everything else works.
Solution: Try starting the phone in Safe Mode then check if the screen works in this mode. If it does then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest that you perform a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data.
If the issue persists then it’s very likely that the digitizer of the phone is damaged. You will need to have this checked at a service center.
J5 Screen Is Black
Problem: Good afternoon! I would like know what to do with my phone samsung Galaxy J5 as it screen is black. can charge and turn on but the screen still black. please help on this. Thank you
Solution: The best way to tackle this problem is to start the phone in recovery mode and if the screen works in this mode then consider doing a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. In case the screen is still black even in recovery mode then we might be looking at a faulty display. You will need to have the phone checked at a service center.
J5 Overheats Battery Drains Quickly
Problem: Hi, so my J5 2015 phone suddenly started overheating and the battery drained after I plugged in those mini fans to the usb part. I’ve used this mini fan this way many times before but it’s the first time this happened. So then I turned my phone off and took the battery out and waited for it to cool down. When it returned to normal temperature, I re-inserted the battery and it without even powering it on, it started turning very hot again. Please help
Solution: If the phone gets hot even if it is not powered on then the battery might be causing a component to short circuit or the battery itself could be shorted. Try getting a new battery for your phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by an internal component that is failing to work properly.
J5 Screen Is Black Not Responding To Charging
Problem: My phone suddenly blacked out while it was on, but not being used, except to sound an alarm two hours later. It did not beep. When I picked it up, there were no lights or sound or vibration or anything. It does not respond to charging on adaptor . I have taken out the battery, and then put back the battery but it could not restart. I held the power, volume and home button all at the same time. How long should I hold it for a response? When my phone last worked, I was above 70% battery. What else can I do?
Solution: For this particular case try getting a new battery and see if the phone turns on with this new battery. If it doesn’t then try charging it first for at least 20 minutes then turn on the phone. If the issue persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Problem: Hello I have a samsung galaxy J5 and every time i hit the home button or lock button it glitches like it’s well spazzing out like the screen flickers
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to check if some software glitch is causing the problem by performing the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset do not instal any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.
J5 Facebook Google Play Store Not Connecting When On Wi-Fi
Problem: Facebook app and play store are not connecting on wifi whereas they connect well on 3G. The internet app and other apps work on wifi though. My siblings do not have this problem, they own iphones and samsungs
Solution: you should try checking your router settings as there might be some security policy in place that might be blocking certains apps from going online. You should also check if the issue occurs when you connect your phone to a different Wi-Fi network. In case it does then this might be caused by a software glitch. If this is the case then you should consider doing a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
