J5 Screen Won’t Turn On After Sleep
Problem: Hi there. I have a Samsung j5 that dropped into the toilet. I plucked it straight out. It’s sat in rice for 3 days. I put the battery in and it starts up. I can use the Internet, make phone calls, texts, etc. When the screen locks it won’t restart. The on off switch or by pressing the middle button. It’s like it’s teasing me. Is this phone knackered? Or shall I put it back in the rice for longer?
Solution: What you should do right now is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Backup your phone data first then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is most likely a hardware related problem possibly caused by an internal component getting water damaged. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
J5 Switched Off After Inserting OTG USB Drive
Problem: I inserted Usb Drive for Android on my Samsung J5; it switched itself off it doesn’t want to turn on. I removed battery and did the volume and power also but still no power I am using phone for a week
Solution: Try inserting a new battery on your phone and check if it turns on. If it doesn’t then the USB Drive that you inserted in your phone might have short circuited the phone. The best thing that you should do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
J5 Discharging Battery Power
Problem: Samsung Galaxy J5 – Suddenly yesterday out of the blue the phone started discharging , would not charge. I have tried multiple things to fix this concern and could not. it was not after an update though. Soft boot, hard reset and still discharges. Now it is showing as charging, BUT constantly discharging as well so will not charge fully. How can this be fixed or is it possibly a phone/battery issue now?
Solution: The best thing to do right now is to get a new battery then check if the problem gets fixed. J5 Hotspot Only Allows Certain Websites To Be Accessed
Problem: My phone hotspot seems to only let me go on certain sites with my laptop. So far, I’m able to a access Google and youtube with my laptop. I couldn’t even access this forum through my phone hotspot
Solution: Have you tried checking if the same issue occurs when another device is connecting to your phone hotspot? If the issue persists then the problem could be caused by your mobile data subscription which might be blocking certain websites from being accessed if the phone hotspot is activated. You will need to confirm this with your carrier.
In case another device can access any website when connected to the hotspot then the issue might be with your laptop. Try restarting your laptop. You should also try using another browser to access the websites which you can’t access.
J5 Not Responding To Hard Reset
Problem: My Samsung J5 does not respond on hard reset….please help. If I get the factory setting it gives me a list in chinese. If I select the xxxxx eMM than it does something likes it resets. but if it turns on it is still the same…if I connect it to my laptop it connects as a media USB device. If I wanna delete the pictures it doesn’t allow me…Uninstall apps doesnt work also PLEASE ADVICE
Solution: It looks like your phone is running on a custom software that somehow has become corrupt. The best thing that you can do right now is to flash the phone with its updated stock firmware file. You can get the file from the Sammobile website. J5 Software Update To 6.0.1
Problem: I received a new SIM card from Verizon, and the phone works. However, it continually gives me a software update notice “Software Update Available”. It has 6.0.1 now. If I click on it, it runs through what looks like a software update, restarts, and optimizes all the apps, etc. However, when it finishes it is still on 6.0.1 haha. Can the phone update to android 7.0? Is that what the phone is trying to do? It never gives me any error messages, but I’ve tried a dozen times to the same effect.
Solution: There is no Android 7 Nougat update available yet for this phone on the official channels. The update that you phone performed is most likely security patches that gets constantly released for mobile devices.
J5 Screen Is Black
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy J5 will show the notification LED light and it will also flash the tools at the bottom of the phone where the home button is but the screen will remain black. I’ve tried all of your tips and watched videos and nothing changed.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then from here perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. In case the screen is still black in recovery mode or if the issue still persists after the factory reset then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.
