J3 Display Sleeps In 10 Seconds
Problem: The display on my Samsung Galaxy j3 prime shuts off in 10 seconds if not touched. Still does the same thing despite changing display timeout to 1 minute and then to 5 minutes. I also did a soft reset and that hasn’t fixed it either.
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to make sure that the display setting is properly set.
- Tap Apps – Settings – Display & Wallpaper
- Tap Screen Timeout
- Select the desired timeout duration.
In case the phone still reverts back to the 10 second timeout then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then there’s a possibility that it is caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset if the above step does not work.
J3 Not Connecting To Car Bluetooth After Software Update
Problem: Since phone “updated” recently I can’t get a bluetooth call through car stereo in any of three family cars. One is 2010 Jaguar one uses a Parrot hands free kit and daughter has 2005 Porsche Boxster with a built in system. All devices will answer the call but call comes through phone instead of radio,. if by some freak chance the call does come through properly the sound is distorted like someone speaking under water. I don’t use Bluetooth for anything other than hands free in the car so I don’t know if other functions are successful or not. I have done soft resets, deleted bluetooth cache and data all to no avail. I’ve deselected awesome player in preference to nuplayer and the reverse as suggested with no improvement.There were no problems before update and there are no problems with daughter or partners phone . Contacted Samsung who are adamant I contact Jaguar re the problem but that would mean I have three incompatible devices which to me suggests a problem with the phone software rather than my bluetooth system. I am currently one year into a two year contract and through no fault of my own I can’t make a hands free call from my vehicle. They tell me that reverting to the earlier software where there was no problem is not possible.
Solution: There’s a possibility that this problem is caused by some old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. What you need to do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try checking if the issue still occurs.
J3 Touch Home Has Stopped Working
Problem: I keep getting “unfortunately Touch Home has stopped working” is there a fix for this or do i have to get a new phone? also i have done a factory reset twice to resolve this and it has not resolved it
Solution: A factory reset will usually resolve this type of issue. Since you have already reset your phone twice and the issue still persists then this might already be a hardware related issue in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
J3 Has Black Screen
Problem: My phone just up and went to black screen this morning i’ve tried soft resets tried to do everything i have been able to find on google i cannot get anything to come up on the screen every once in a while itll have a flash of lines and color but that’s all
Related Problem: Galaxy j3… My screen is black… Nothing will show visible on the screen.. just black… I tried to soft reset, charging, and hard reset, but screen is still black.. was using it fine just a few hours ago… Pls help ASAP
Solution: The best thing to do right now is to check if the screen works when the phone is started in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then I suggest that you do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. If the screen still does not work in recovery mode then the display assembly might be faulty in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
J3 Touchscreen Not Working After Phone Got Wet
Problem: I dropped my Samsung J3 in water the phone turns on and has sound and still vibrates but the touch screen is not working so I can not use it
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to wipe the phone with a soft cloth until the exterior part is dry and free from liquid. Once this is done place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. Make sure that the phone is off when you do this. Also, if this is a 2016 or 2015 model then you should remove the battery when placing the phone in rice. As soon as this is done check if the issue still occurs. If it does then the display might be water damaged in which case you will need to have this checked at a service center.
J3 Randomly Turns Off When Instagram Is Installed
Problem: My phone is randomly turning off due to an app called instagram i’ve uninstalled it and reinstalled it and I need to find out if I can fix it , if I can ever use instagram again,and if anything is wrong with My phone. It works completely fine without instagram installed but when I tried to install it my phone shut off
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to wait for a new version of the app to be released as it looks like the current version is causing the phone to turn off.
J3 TouchWiz Has Stopped After Software Update
Problem: After i update the software of my phone, i want to check it. Now, when i press the home button the apps doesn’t appear and a note popped “touchwiz has stopped”. I tried restarting it, put it off but there is no result. I also searched “touchwiz home” in the app manager, it was not available.
Solution: What you will want to do for this particular case is to clear the cache and data of the TouchWiz app from the application manager.
- From any Home screen, tap Apps.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll to ‘APPLICATIONS,’ then tap Application manager.
- Swipe right to the ALL screen.
- Find and tap Touchwiz.
- Tap Clear cache.
- Tap Clear data, then OK.
In case the issue still occurs after performing the above steps then you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
J3 Will Not Turn On
Problem: I went to turn my phone on and it wouldn’t come on so I left it alone for a while put it on the charger then the battery came on the screen then popped up the name and brand of the phone then the screen went completely blue and shut off would not come back on right away. My phone is the Samsung j3
Solution: Try starting the phone in recovery mode and if the phone starts in this mode I suggest that you perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
In case the issue persists then try replacing the battery of the phone.
Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
